hi everyone, wanna ask somethng from all the sifu-sifu here.. my fren iphone 3gs yesterday still working very well... but this morning he turned on the phone and the phone was hang on the apple icon there, dint show up anything but just hang on the same apple logo page. anyone knows what problem the phone facing?
"update" he told me he did erased all contents and settings... anyone can help him?

do a restoration on the phone...
if i'm not mistaken u download the firmware, possibly 3.1.2
after that, turn phone off and connect it to your comp and open up itunes
then press ur iphone power button and home button for quite sometime until the apple logo shows up and release the home button but keep pressing on the power button
itunes will detect your phone in restoration mode and you'll see the usb and itunes picture in your iphone
press shift and click on the restore button in your itunes and select the firmware that you have just downloaded and wait till everything installed and synced

the situation is like this. i had use erased all contents and settings. then the phone restart. then it hanging at the apple logo. with the loading icon hanging. the phone cant turn on even leave it for few hours. pressing home button together with on off button still no responding. and the only way to turn off the phone is home+on off button

he erase all the content and settings means ALL the file inside were deleted/cleared.so it dun haf a firmware to startup and load springboard.

a lil bit of correction for finecut here:
the way im using is diff frm urs,but i dunno urs is working or nt cz i havnt tried i b4..

1. Off the fon
2. Plug in cable which connect to the comp,n press power button and home button for 8 ~ 10 second and release the POWER BUTTON not home button and keep pressing the home button until Itunes shows a popup tat inform u tat u r in restored mode.
3. It suppose to show nothing on the screen which indicates u hav entered the restore mode.If its shows an iTunes logo + a cable it mean u hav entered recovery mode. Redo it.
4.Follow the last step tat finecut had mention. That shld revive ur fren's fon.

Hope this helps ur fwen.I've restore it quite a few times so it wouldnt b a prob.

Very easy..Few option here for u to try out.
1. Hold on power +home button until u see the phone restart with apple logo appear..
2. Do a restore in iTunes..

No worry.. Is a small matter..If can't solve, just do a DFU restore..

Today, I just update my iPhone 3g to ver.3.1.2
Once it done, when i try to sync with itunes, it prompted out "error 13001" and i find all musics and videos unable playing. ( the applications still working )

Out of ideas, i update itunes to latest version and trying resync again.But it doesn't help!

Next, i try to restore my iPhone but it doesn't help neither.....

Later, i find out all my contacts and sms is gone too. ( i thought restore only for phone setting and it doesn't delete anything)


Q1. Any idea to clear error 13001 so that my iPhone able sync with itunes ?

Q2. Any chance i able to retrieve back my contacts list ?

i am new iphone user. I jsut want to know how to transfer pdf files from my computer to iphone . I dont see any options in i tunes to transfer file to iphone.

is it not possible to transfer files/photos through blue tooth fom iphone. Is it only for connection to handfree /car kit???

Dear all, need your advices and opinions on following problems regarding ip 3gs:-

iPhone Generation : 3gs (Maxis set collected mid of Oct)
Current Firmware : 3.1.2
Current network: Maxis
iTunes Version : 9
PC/MAC : PC
Jailbreaking software : No
Problem Encountered :
(i) My Iphone screen resolution will suddenly changed from 480 x 320 pixels to 190 x 160 pixels, so far occur 2 times.
(ii) Signal strength of network is weak and sometimes No Service. My friend’s put his Iphone 3gs (Maxis) side by side with mine and his coverage is good but mine still no service.


Steps Taken So Far :
(i) Restart cannot solve the problem, have to reset the phone only will recover to original resolution
(ii) Restart some time can solve the issue, but the signal strength still weak compared to others.
