oh my, I'm 25 this year & I wanna take piano lessons too. Is it too late? I also wanna look for personal teacher. Any recommendations?

I start @ 26.. now I'm 28

I dont believe there is an age factor in learning it.
Playing piano is my childhood dream. It's fun and it's living my dream.
so whats better thing you can spend your life for?

btw, learning by yourself (through youtube, books) is pretty hard.
until some level, I feel like I'm stuck somewhere.

yup.. I'm thinking to get a mentor/guru to hone my music skills.

haha.. nice one.
I can recall I'm learning "Brother John" until my roommate sing it along with me. tongue.gif and I learn it from youtube.
youtube is a great place to learn music that you like. 80% of my music lesson come from there. It cover from simple2 basic (finding middle c, fingering, etc) until playing some mindblowing classical song.

for piano. it takes a lot of practice.
there are times when I hurt my finger and my back (when learning new song, such as the notebook theme (from the notebook ost)), but I dont care, because I love to play em!

Hi all..i am 22 this year..interested in playing piano also..but parents do not allowed...and piano is expensive also >.< My uni offered piano classes during my 1st yr..so i take up the lesson and learn for 1 semester..but it was quite tough for me as i did not own a piano..so just depend on the piano at uni..practice for half and hour everyday..that time only 1 piano available..and I need to share with other students as well..so did not have much chances to practice..2nd semester onwards they did not offer any classes anymore...so i only know the very basic skill..now i wanna continue playing but i cannot afford to get a piano..i wanna ask...can i just use keyboard instead of piano? i only can afford cheap keyboard that cost few hundred bucks..If i go for piano lesson at music center then i use keyboard to practice at home is it ok??

I have tips for you guys. Well probably this tips is not useful at all so i apologize if that happen. The first way to be able to play piano is to have own instrument. I am aware that piano instrument is quite expensive. But do not worry there are keyboard for your solution. For me i use midi keyboard control which have 49 key. which is not good for hard piece score but should be enough for beginner. I bought mine which cost few hundred. BTW i hook up my keyboard to PC with software KONTAKT4 (piano software) + MAUDIO GRANDPIANO VSTi. That goes one part for those who have instrument problem. The next one is just download the EMEDIA KEYBOARD METHOD. They have beginner till intermediate lesson with video. The lesson is very useful and probably in the first week you will have the basic fundamental of piano. Good luck

if really can't afford a piano, a keyboard will do for beginner, though not really recommended for pianist who play for some time already. Anyway, if piano is really out of your budget, go get a keyboard first. At least you have something to practice at home as learning an instrument without practicing at home is really troublesome. laugh.gif

Hihi,,

I wonder if anyone know of any good piano teacher/piano centre around Puchong, Bukit Jalil, OUG or Sri Petaling?
Hopefully she teaches adult basis as i heard adult learner can skip some grades and advances faster.
Got such thing ar?
Kinda late for me to start now but really hope to learn music since young.
Friend advice to learn piano before learning other insrument like cello which i am interested in too.

Btw,, my time is not fix so really hope to find a home piano teacher so that i can organise time easier with her and go learn at her house as i dun have piano.
And teacher must be qualified to send me to official grade exams too.
Not too expensive oso la.

Cheers. biggrin.gif

hai......

for me, i would suggest u to start learning piano before learning any other instruments, like cello.....

for adult, we can learn faster, coz we have better understanding in words and theory than children. not to say skip, it just can say that we can improves a bit faster. everything still needs to be follow steps by steps.

i am a piano teacher at Taman Desa, Old Klang Road. if you are interested, can PM me for more details.

thanks smile.gif

harloee..I am sabrina, I am just 20 years old.
however, I have a few years of teaching piano experiences.
I do teach children and adults piano.
yes indeed, there is an advantage for adult to learn piano because they are able to skip some of the grades and might be faster than a kid.

I do help my private students to register for the ABRSM exam.
I am staying at bukit jalil, vista komanwel C.

my fees is rm85 for adults and rm75 for kids .

It is not late to learn for a musical instrument.
I have a student who is already a housewife, just joined my piano classes.
she is much older than u guyzz I doubt.

Therefore, if u are interested with it. Do not hestitate anymore.
Learn it fast with no regrets.
I may not be ur piano teacher but I will still hv to wish u all gud luck in learning..!!! work hard and put in effort.

Hi Sabrina and everybody!

I am looking for piano teacher or for piano owner. I studied piano for 7 years, but it was ageas ago. Now I am 28 and need to recollect piano skills to perform one single Beethoven composition. I want to record this performace on video and send it to girl-friend as Birthday present. The birthday will occur on 17-Jan-2011, therefore I have only available period 8-14-Jan for recollecting and training.

I need 10-20 x 45min lessons or selflearning session (just access to piano). I am basing at Bukit Jalil, Vista Komonwel C as well. Probably, It will take me too long for recollecting, therefore my request is valid until the begin of Feb-2011.

Please, contact me via cell +6019 325 2096 or mail zainashev @ gmail.com

Hope to hear you soon. Thank you in advance.
