QUOTE(project-o @ Nov 14 2009, 01:30 PM) Maybe to compromise you can take the AF-D 50 f1.4 and a macro extension tube or a +10 close up filter. Will give you both portrait and macro capabilities. not a bad idea at all can u tell me about the cost too on how much i have to spend for those things? i m actually planning to get a raynox onto the 50 mm fell in love with the 50mm1.4 This post has been edited by maxh3h3: Nov 14 2009, 01:35 PM |

QUOTE(Cwz90 @ Nov 14 2009, 01:37 PM) sry for ask a noob question here.. both A and S is almost the sameI'm a newbie.. and is using D3000 currently... which situation we need to adjust to aperture priority mode, shutter speed priority mode and manual mode?? when i wan capture the landscape, is better adjust to aperture priority mode??? thanks for help... sry if it is a stupid question.... A mode = adjust your aperture and it will auto set a shuttle speed for u S mode = adjust your shuttle and it will set aperture for u landscape need very low aperture to make sure everything is clear and sharp and even get star effect at nights (if you are new = high aperture means lower F like f5.6 - 1.2) ( low aperture means HIgher F like f10 -22) Lower aperture in low lights will make shuttle delay time to capture more lights which is impossible to handhold shooting. A tripod is a must for landscape shooting U could skip the tripod but u must make sure shuttle is good enough for u to shoot without delay from shuttle. any lower aperture setting will make higher delays on shuttle . Landscape is very fun with tripod and a wired remote This post has been edited by maxh3h3: Nov 14 2009, 01:46 PM |

I think this kind of hard decision only happen to new players. I would prefer to buy the body only and go for nice and new lens like 18-105 which is going at rm900 to 800 easy on secondhand markets.
Dunno why but i still prefer my 18-55 kitlens as a general travel photography but i cannot be a sniper on trip without a 200mm |

Just got my approval from GF to sell it away and get a 50mm instead This post has been edited by maxh3h3: Nov 14 2009, 08:50 PM |

QUOTE(Zi-Tech @ Nov 15 2009, 01:44 AM) i think what it mean is the front rotate or not.... maybe he want to choose right polarizer for the lens... well judging from your selections , i think u tend to shoot more portrait?i want to buy new lens and need opinion here.... this my list... 1. 18-105 mm(d90 kitlens) + 50mm f1.8 (dont mind bout MF) 2. 18-50mm f2.8 + 55-200mm vr lens which one is good bargain??? Best mm by some expert for portrait lens is from 50mm to 105mm 50mm is good enough with 1.4 or 1.8 which creates natural bokeh 18-50 f2.8 wont be able to do that kind of bokeh from 50mm1.8 because of the distance i think 85mm above should be still okay to accept the bokeh done by 2.8 Alot of portrait photog prefer to snipe their target from far away because they need the distance at 2.8 plus they want their target to feel relax and natural for not having a crazy photog shooting in front of her if u wanna go for f2.8 there r few lens :- nice zoom lens like 70-200 , 80-200mm (fix 2.8 zoomer) nice prime lens like 180 mm 2.8 nice telephoto lens like 85mm 1.8 / 1.4 nice macro line that tend to be a bit sharp like 60mmf2.8 and 105 mm 2.8 So my choice if i were u , i would go for 18-105 and 50 1.8 ( cheap and the best but cant snipe like 55-200 do This post has been edited by maxh3h3: Nov 15 2009, 10:31 AM |

QUOTE(project-o @ Nov 15 2009, 10:59 AM) I got this from Shashinki some months back and am using these. What I like about them is that you can leave them even for a month or more and they don't run out of charge. i m using the same thing too, yea the shop owner told me that the battery still good after 6 month no usage |

QUOTE(dukunet @ Nov 15 2009, 12:34 PM) got a li bit confius here... maybe diff definition of rotate? i m asking because lens like 18-55 kit len not surpose to use a screw hood because the front will rotate when auto focus which make the hood in odd positions.by rotate, i understand that when u put the nikon cap, and u focus (regardless manual of auto-motor), the word nikon stay the same. it dont turn upside down or sideways... i try manual focus with my kitlens AF-S 18-55mm, the front still rotate... manual focusing the AF 50mm, the front did not rotate... are u saying if i put my 50mm into d90, the word nikon on cap will rotate if i focus using d90 builtin motor? i guess maxh3h3 asking because of want to use some sort of filter? like the filter that will reduce the light of only the sky, dunno what to call it tho.... i have a extra 52mm screw hood that looks nicer than those rounded hood for 50mm Added on November 15, 2009, 12:42 pm QUOTE(Zi-Tech @ Nov 15 2009, 12:35 PM) thanks for replying.....yeah i think i tend to portraiture picture beside landscape... Alot of people selling their lens kit for d90.so i will hunter this two lens.... p/s: anyone want to sell their lens especially 18-105???? Too much competition for them so i guess u can try your best luck for the best price like rm 800 to rm 850 try go mudah.com.my This post has been edited by maxh3h3: Nov 15 2009, 12:42 PM |

QUOTE(project-o @ Nov 16 2009, 06:56 PM) 55-200 as a primary lens is ok but it depends on what they shoot. I have a friend who is a wedding photographer and he uses 70-200 IS USM for practically everything. Maybe different people have different styles and different ways to use the lens. Some like super wide...others may not like. fisheye during the Yamseng part is really nice, 70-200 of course better because can be a sniper for natural pics of the lead actor and actress. Added on November 16, 2009, 7:09 pm QUOTE(iXora.ix @ Nov 16 2009, 06:52 PM) there many difference them with us... mana butang exit???? ohhh Exit dah! Nape mau exit ke?we might can use in M mode..while they..huh? i have 1 friend in myspace... he publish 1 picture..he say he take it with his slr.. but when i ask him about exif data..he say..."ape tu weyh?" Added on November 16, 2009, 7:12 pm QUOTE(faiz92 @ Nov 16 2009, 01:09 PM) YEAH ! and for them , they dont need camera bag! because they just want to show off. cant say like that lar, a serious photographer dont really wait for the shot, they just have bump into some nice thing to shoot so camera have to be ready in off mode. But of course, with a proper gear bag and gears, u wont look like an amateurs trying to pose like a pro lol.Anyways, its normal to use flash outdoor , to highlight details ? well, for new players, sell 18-55 and get a 18-105 VR (rm700++)
or keep the 18-55 and get a 55-200 mm VR =(rm800 ++) More solution of course but that 2 is the most basic upgrades |
