Guys.. Just wanna ask.. I have a Nissin Di622 flash already, but is it worth it to buy a SB400 as a secondary flash? How much is the 2nd hand price of this? Thanks ya smile.gif
*
haha with the price tag of a sb400, u might as well get a secondhand second nissin d622 for 2 flashes u can make some creative shot wireless.
more wireless flashes mean more fun man, real fun

lol... Most good pics already posted here... Out of the 7k (3.5k is not shoot by me, i bought 2nd hand) i think most of them are failures/snapshots/travel/family shots. And my kit lens is not sharp, my friend's sony A300 kit lens is much much sharper. So sad...

2 days more i will be in singapore, let's pray i can get some good snaps =)
*
nikon got the best kitlens man, sony and canons kitlens no value in market as far as i can see especially sony kitlens.
I still love my 18-55 VR smile.gif

Guys, my battery grip has finally arrived.. But sadly, the vertical shutter won't work if I don't change the settings sad.gif

Nevertheless, I love it.. I get more grip since I got big hands biggrin.gif And it's easy to hold now when my Di622 is attached to the camera nod.gif

Btw, just wanna ask.. I got it with Phottix's 1400mAh battery, can I pair it with my original nikon battery? The mAh is different..
*
well if u wanna play safe, u can use 1 battery at a time, i prefer this way too because i got only 1 charger so i can charge the other batts anytime its low on batt. Having a battery grip its a total new comfort in holding your SLR.

Can i know what kind of settings need for vertical? my phottix d80 grip works just fine hmm.gif

Most don't come with rubber grip. What you see normally is just the same plastic with some texture on the front.
*
wow, that not secure for me man, i m using a phottix bgrip but with rubbers in front, i only wrap my straps around my arms with my hand holding the grip only. Fast and best to get ready for fast shoot.

hey guys ... i'm interested in getting myself a D3000 ...
can i know what's the lowest price can get in KL?

what about the life spam of the body?i heard it's around 100k shuttle count, any idea on these?

thanks!
*
i hardly see any DSLR beginner that can reach 100k shuttle count cept this fellow is a stupid noob that shoot burst non stop until battery drain in every shoot.

I see only those that involve in photography bussiness like a wedding or event photog that usually manage to reach like 60k to 100 k in less than 2 years maybe. High shutter count mostly happens to semi pro slr like d200 and above.

event and portrait nid use till 200?? o.O
*
yea event need a good zoom lens as u cant be always near to what u wanna shoot. Some says minimum for good portrait range should be like 105 mm and above so u dont have to go that near to frame your target.
17-50mm is very suitable for both portrait and wide angle plus the VC and the 2.8 aperture.

yes..true...
but quite difficult oso to change from 18-55 to 55-200..
dat y oso considering on 18-200  rclxub.gif
*
yea this is a good choice to cover every lens with the right range but it will not produce the most prefer quality when u reach to a certain level. Its the best travel lens for me and it remain as that only when u dont have to carry so much lens inbag.

i prefer 17-50, since we are using crop body and not full frame, 17-50 is good enuf.
*
well 17-50 is good enough to focus on portrait and scenery at a good price and the 28-75 is more suitable if u wanna find something to replace the good and expensive 24-70 f2.8 to cover event like weddings and stuff in low light.
It really depends on what u planning to use it for.

VC=VR=IS...they are all the same thing...

well...u mean the price or what?? if price, u can check shashinki to see which lens win the most exp price...=)
*
VC = vibration Control ( Tamron )

VR = vibration Reduction ( Nikon )

IS = Image Stabilizer ( Canon )

OS = Optical Stabilizer ( Sigma )

drool.gif all design to suit the vibration sensations of a photographer

Which should I seriously consider? D60, D3000 or D5000? No interest in video capabilites.
*
since u say u got no interest in video mode so the best would be d3000 with the beginner guide mode.

sorry, im quiet beginer in this, so juz asking the latest market price for nikon D5000.
also, may i know disadvantages and advantages for this types of camera.
any common problem can easily happen?
*
this is not a place to compare brands, all DSLR is a good DLSR if its in the right hand with the right skills.
if u want people to tell u about the disadvantages of a d5000, it is the lacking of a build in focusing motors. all nikon beginner series doesnt have a build in motors to use some lens that doesnt have a build in motors. Most good lens from nikon have a build in motors except for one of the cheapest AF 50mm f1.8 that doesnt have a build in motors so u can use that lens in manuals.

nikon services in malaysia is very poor and yet the nikonians are growing. There is a reason why alot would choose a nikon smile.gif

judging from your question, i can see that u dont really know much.

If its too hard to make a decisions, try look around u for friends that have a SLR. It is better for u to join them with the same brands so u can tag along as a beginner.

hope this is useful to u smile.gif

why you say that nikon service in malaysia are poor?

HAHA, if i tell u more about the nikon service, u would propably skipped this brand ohmy.gif

lets just hope the new nikon service center at times square is really meant to serve the loyal nikonian beside selling expensive nikon products.

hi all,
I'm a D40 user, just got a AFS DX 35mm f1.8. Anyonw have this lens, can comment on it or show how to max it ?
*
what do u mean by max it? arent u getting good result from the large aperture of 1.8 which actually give u nice bokeh
d40 user tend to compare this lens to the cheap old 50mm1.8 cept u have to get closer to your subject to get a nice frame for portrait.
Try distance your target from the nearest background. It will give u nice bokeh.

hope this help
