I am searching for the Yamaha YST-SW216 subwoofer. But I cannot find the local price for this subwoofer. Anyone knows the price of this subwoofer and where to get it?

The 467 precedes 465. Why not get the 467 straight away unless you can get the 465 dirt cheap.

Check out http://asia.yamaha.com/en/products/audio-v...speaker-systems for your speaker options if you want Yamaha speakers. smile.gif

There are bookshelfs, floor standing, surround and center pieces for you to choose from.. matching ones as well as not.. smile.gif

Hmm... I think most if not all of them can 'match' your amp but best check its specs... what you should do is check each floor standing speaker's spec and then proceed to get matching centre and surround. For the sub, I guess it should match the size of your speakers.. if you're taking floor standings, then get at least 10' subs.

4ft stand... I think.. its just next to my ear(s) if I sit on the sofa... I guess my surrounds are placed slightly above 4ft...

yea.. 5ft stand's a bit hard to find... wonder where you guys find them from..

Bro, so you mean the appropriate placement of surround speakers should be 6ft height, right? 3ft cannot?

3 feet? r u sitting on ur couch or lying down on the floor? laugh.gif

dont worry about how high it is. 1 feet above ear level is ok dy. i like it at 6 feet from the ground. some even mount up high at the ceiling but yeah general thumb is about 6 feet.

i have bought my NS-8390 and P-60 with no woofer (yet)

and since i'm renovating my new place, i got a question with speaker heights:

the 2 front speaker, is it a must on the floor? if i put it up the TV cabinet, it will be about 5-6 feet, is this not recommended?

the recommended 6ft height is it for surround speakers only or for all front and back? (center?)

Generally the recommendation for front speakers is the tweeter is roughly at ear level (so around 3 - 3.5 feet). I think 5 - 6 feet will be too high.

Anyway, the NS-8390 is a floor standing speaker. Will be really odd for you to put it up on a TV cabinet.

Luckily you're still in design stage smile.gif

So now no need to make the TV cabinet so big (save cost) so you have some empty floor space to put the NS-8390.
