My setup:

1. Yamaha AVR - RX-V863
2. Yamaha Speakers - NS555, NS333, NS-C444, NS-SW315

No complains... the sub is a bit of a letdown though... maybe I don't know how to setup or position correctly, but no "Ooomph".

The NS555 floor stands are excellent... esp. when bi-amped.

Got it during Merdeka sales last year at a package price (AVR + speakers).... if I remember correctly, 6K+.

Not many Yamaha speaker owners amongst LYN forumers, most prefer to mix and match. In my opinion, the most important pieces are the 2 fronts (must get floor stand ones) and the sub-woofer. The center and rear are more auxillary....

I have tried & used the NS-SW315.. not bad...
its a downfiring woofer.. so you need a fast-paced & responsive subwoofer interconnect to get it to perform...
Also positioning.. or else it sound muddled...

scsoo,

What do you mean by "fast-paced & responsive subwoofer interconnect" ?

As for positioning, I think mine is in a very lousy spot, but no choice, aesthetics problem.

own a 5.0 Yamaha NS555, NS333, NS-C444
no sub yet. don't see the need to have one until upgrade to blu-ray lah. will rather add another pair of NS555 than getting a sub!

the amp is also Yamaha RX-V659.

for rm3.8k, i think. three years ago.

cheers,
wps

Those of you guys that are into the Yamaha Sound Projectors, the latest generation is just around the corner.... this latest generation pack 7.1, decide lossless audio, wireless woofer and also add on speakers...
Also its only 3 1/2 inch thick... going thin to suit latest thin panels...
But price tag should be something........ rclxub.gif

I'm planning to get one set too!
Desa Home Theatre quoted me RM6050 for:
5.1 System: NS-F310, NS-B310, NS-C310, NS-SW315, &
AVR: RX-V567

Wonder if there were better offer?

I am into movie a lot. I heard from friends that Yamaha is more suitable for music not so much for movie. Is this right ?

Follow your instinct, hahahhahaa, Yamaha have lots of products that earn them EISA award winner, like best subwoofer , NS-SW700, best floor standing speaker , Soavo1....

Here's my setup...

AVR: Yamaha RX-V467
Centre + Surround: NS-P60
Front: NS-8390
Sub: YST-RSW300 (Front Firing.. didn't get the Down Firing due to me staying in small condo.. later the fella downstairs come complain)
Damage: RM3900

Sounds good for Movies (Blu Rays, 720-1080 mkv and TV) and Music (CDs, mp3 and FM). Haven't tried out PS3 gaming yet though...

Btw.. isn't there a Yamaha thread already over HERE? You should bring your discussions over there...
