He's testing hero, i'm testing the 'other' android - Donut.
p/s apparently Hero is launching in Msia this week or next....so the lucky person whos testing that unit would have gotten a whole 1-2 weeks on-hand with that unit. Wonder how stable is that version of android.

From several news sites, the price will be RM2399. Oh oh the phone is coming next week? I'm excited XD
With the new update circulating at XDA, I'm very itchy to play with it. Bye bye iPhone, welcome Hero.

Well, until there are more apps for android - OS3 would be still king....for now. The Donut is about as responsive as OS3 ad bot are still faster than Hero's customised shell though.

Oh my... How bad is Android Market actually? Based on my visit to http://www.android.com/ only, I'd say it's mildly bad. Being 50-50, the striking goodness of iPhone's apps certainly pull me to Apple's side. But again, QUOTE Check out our site for some of the more popular applications and games available in Android Market. For a comprehensive, up-to-date list of the thousands of titles that are available, you will need to view Android Market on a handset. I really cannot decide.

After 1 day of testing HERO. Quite satisfy with the battery performance. 7am till 12 midnite, still left 40% with gtalk & web browser connected + about an hour phone call since 7am
the build in calendar need some improvement.

chkhoo76, did you test it with the latest update? It's here. How about the UI? Is it consistent across various third-party apps? How about the trackball? Do you think the ball will be easily spoiled, like Sony Ericsson's stick on K series? I saw some Facebook menu/entries in Hero (specifically from it's Stay Close video). Is it as nice as Facebook app in iPhone? And someone is selling HTC Hero at RM2500. Check out here! This post has been edited by LEVIATHAN: Sep 9 2009, 07:05 PM

Only if you are interested of getting it earlier :-)
I talked to a shop in KLCC, they said the price may be at RM2800 something. I personally hope that the price won't be that high. At RM2800 I'd rather get an iPhone 3GS instead.

I'm reading xda, and found out that playing around Android is so much adventurous and fun. If the price is right (please god not RM2800), iPhone 3GS is still NA, I'm certain Hero is my next phone :-)
Previously toying with my SE W series phone, you know updating firmware, change camera driver and add flash menu, I feel very much fascinated.
Now I'm reading more on rooting, custom ROMs and such.
I can't wait to get one.
