Just watched the highlights again, noticed Foster's left leg slipped as he dived at Bellamy.. he would definitely got his hands to the ball before Bellamy took his shot if he got the push needed from his left leg, instead he just fell down instead of jumping right at Bellamy's feet.

Harry hails Neville's passion
QUOTE Harry Redknapp urges Spurs to match Gary Neville's jubilation level • Manager wants his substitutes to celebrate with feeling • Defender's derby goal celebration prompts FA warning Harry Redknapp has highlighted Gary Neville's passion as an example to be followed. The Tottenham manager urged the fringe members of his squad, many of whom will start at Preston North End tomorrow night, to be similarly selfless. Neville's celebration of Michael Owen's 96th-minute winner for Manchester United against Manchester City on Sunday saw the defender warned by the Football Association yesterday, for goading City supporters. Yet Redknapp remarked on how the 34-year-old's delight outweighed any disappointment at not being used as a substitute. "That's why United are where they are," said Redknapp. "They are a team and they are all together. Gary Neville has won everything there is to win but you look at the excitement he showed at his team winning, when he wasn't even in the team. He wasn't sitting on the bench with his arms folded. He was jumping higher than Fergie. "When we played United at White Hart Lane the week before, my coaches, Tim Sherwood and Les Ferdinand, were in the stands along with the United boys who weren't subs. They were jumping up and down at every decision and again when they scored their goals. That winning mentality goes right through the club. [Darron] Gibson and all the other boys wanted to play but they also have those feelings that they showed. "There are not many clubs where you get that. It's something you'd like to develop. It's hard to change some people but that's what makes winning teams. I thought it was amazing to see Neville's feelings show and the joy he had at winning." Redknapp has less than fond memories of his substitutes' bench last January, in a 3-2 defeat at Bolton. "I remember looking at the bench and I think two of them were asleep," he said. "They had hats pulled down and blankets over them. I said, 'I'm sorry to drag you up here, I know it's cold and you could be at home with the missus having a cup of tea. It's hard for 30 grand a week to watch a game.'" Redknapp will use the trip to Preston to offer opportunities to players "who need a game". Heurelho Gomes will replace Carlo Cudicini in goal while Michael Dawson will play his first match of the season, after making a timely recovery from an achilles problem. Redknapp's other established centre-halves, Ledley King, Sébastien Bassong and Jonathan Woodgate, are injured and Redknapp suggested that Woodgate might need a third operation on his troublesome groin if an injection did not solve the problem. Bassong has been given the all-clear after his head injury against Chelsea on Sunday but he also fell awkwardly to damage his knee and so he must undergo a scan on that. Redknapp is expected to include Alan Hutton, Gareth Bale, David Bentley, Kyle Naughton, Giovani dos Santos and Peter Crouch. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/se...rs-gary-neville |

Well, we have to admit they are a threat, not on Chelsea's level yet, but just a bit below that. If they can maintain their position in the top 4 throughout the season, they will be able to attract bigger names and they would be a consistent threat for sure..
Given Richards-Toure-Lescott-Bridge Barry-Ireland SWP-Tevez-Robinho Adebayor That's very strong IMO. Add WC defenders and maybe someone really good to take SWP's place, they would have one hell of a team. |

QUOTE(davidlow7 @ Sep 23 2009, 07:56 PM) PIG deserves to play in this Carling cup imo. Are we now judging players on just a few games now? Foster had one bad game after his shaky start against Chelsea. If we keep dropping players each time after a mistake/bad game, we wouldn't have many players in form/with confidence. If he's consistently bad for a few games(consecutive games), then he deserve to be dropped. He has not had a chance to prove himself yet and he has been described in the media as no. 3 behind Foster. Perhaps it is but I feel this is the best opportunity for Fergie to place him at this moment due to his lack of games and also compare to Foster's recent mistakes. |

I think we should ban the usage of PIG here to avoid anymore confusion and have post asking about the same thing over and over.

QUOTE(davidlow7 @ Sep 24 2009, 12:28 AM) You have got me wrong Sure Kuszczak will get a few games over the season, but he won't start over Foster and VDS when both of them are fit at the same time unless Foster really does something badly in a lot of games and lose SAF's trust. But as we know he can be stubborn and patient for some players. I think it's a bit unfair too to compare Foster's one bad game against Kuszczak's. He's had one bad game, one really shaky game and one game where it was debatable whether he should have done better with one goal he let in. 2/3 out of 8 ain't a bad start to his United career(proper season) IMO.Getting PIG now is not about judging Foster. But is providing another chance for PIG. You can't keep playing him and not PIG. It is not about judging his ability. |

QUOTE(davidlow7 @ Sep 24 2009, 12:52 AM) As U know I never said drop Foster because of one bad game. VDS was in no man's land for that 'Malaysia' goal. What do we say to that? IMHO, It is just PIG haven't been given much chance to prove himself despite he too has the experience. There is no doubt on Foster's ability to develop into a good GK, else he wouldn't be given the chance. But my opinion focus more on opportunities v current situation. So it would also be very unfair if PIG not getting the chance despite Foster's recent mistakes. Remember the one against Malaysia XI too. It wouldn't be easy to take it for PIG and he might leave us for another team.. who knows? Backup GKs don't generally get that much playing time unless for emergency/rest, and usually the managers don't change the GK a lot of times. Kuszczak would get that already, although I'm sure he's unhappy about it. Besides he had the last 3 seasons all to himself behind VDS although he was never given a consistent run in the side due to VDS being available most of the time. Foster was out on loan in two seasons, and last season he was out injured for most of the time. That's not to say Kuszczak is not good. He's a good GK and would be starter for some EPL teams. And to be fair to him, he look fairly solid in his last couple of outings for us. But we need to look back at the situation and priority. It's clear SAF sees Foster as a serious candidate for the #1 spot after VDS goes since he's been bigging up Foster ever since Foster impressed for Watford on loan. VDS is out injured right now and maybe would retire at the end of the season, and we need to find out whether Foster has what it takes or not in as many games as possible. Game at the weekend will be a big show and tell. If Foster isn't pick for that, his chances would be lessen and he need to work harder and take his next chances when given. If he is, it will be a big boost for him although if he make mistake(s) in that game too, you would feel his chances won't be good and his confidence will be shattered after that. |

It's still fairly strong, with only Fabio, Macheda, Welbeck and Gibson as the young and inexperience ones. But all of them(except Fabio) had a taste of first team games last season for us.

Welbeck is gonna be something semi-special.. good control, good pace, good finish, good link up play, remind you of anyone?
Josh King look very good as well. Pace, skill, a bit of power.. they said he's a bit like John Carew. Unlucky for Kiko to be subbed off early. He was very hard working, Tevez-ish. Fabio had to make that tackle I guess. Defence still not convincing. Kuszczak's missed a cross when he came out to deal with it. But he was fine. Didn't have that much to do.. all shots were easy enough. |

QUOTE(Red11DEvils @ Sep 24 2009, 10:56 AM) Any possible reason why man utd are so hated by those rival fans? we din point a gun at referee to be favorable to us arent we? do we ask the FA to assign fans of man utd to be referee? SAF=Success.we also have alot decision going against us from the referee, how come they din see that huh? or they got the wenger syndrome QUOTE(ah_khoo @ Sep 24 2009, 11:09 AM) It's because of our achievements. Those ABU's just can't stand it and use the fans as an excuse to put them on a high horse talking shit about us. Just look at the reaction to Chelsea/Arsenal when they were winning. Now that we're back on top, we're the team to hate. QUOTE(rayz1031 @ Sep 24 2009, 11:48 AM) Lol'ed. He made a mistake for a cross. That means dropping the guy. I missed the match, enjoying my holiday at west cost of Malaysia. A win is a win, summore against a BPL side. Great to see our youngsters giving their best on the field. Seems like De Laet winning a lot of fans here, if not because of SAF wanted to give more match fitness to Brown and Gaz, he should be in the starting lineup. One thing I noticed about our youth squad is that they have a lot of pace. Wellback,Kiko,Tosic,King, these fella are fast! Good to see TK keeping a cleansheet, starting against Stoke maybe QUOTE(air_mood @ Sep 24 2009, 12:36 PM) Nah, clearly we influence the refs. That pic is clear proof is there is any needed. Damn SAF!! I think they will next say we bribe the opposition whenever we get a man sent off since we win most of the time anyway. Too bad we can't extend our deal with the FA to cover Carling Cup matches as well or Fabio wouldn't have been sent off yesterday. Hopefully we already got our brown envelopes ready for the CL and FA Cup. |
