SAF should just ban him from making tackles when he's nowhere near our penalty box. Just apply pressure and don't commit himself too much. Should be easy enough I think. Just tell him no sliding tackles..

Yeah, even when they were training(dun remember which one, the pre-match or the training session), everyone participated in that, and you know sometimes Scholes like to kick people from behind who just received the ball, he did it to Evra I think, and Evra complained to the coaching staff..

QUOTE(FaezFarhan @ Sep 14 2009, 05:48 PM) Mini Roy Keane maybe and without the same level of aggression. Roy Keane was a different animal. He was everywhere. One second he was supporting the attack, the next made a tackle near/inside our box. And all our play pass through him. He was there that collect the ball and decide what to do with it, a bit like Scholes does for us now, minus the pretty bit. |

Wonder what that is that went wrong that night according to SAF. He seems to have a pretty good idea about it and refused to talk about it at all.

QUOTE(MADReaLJL @ Sep 14 2009, 08:01 PM) 07/08 : 5 : sporting lisbon, newcastle, portsmouth, bolton, sunderland We've already got two so far.. 3 more to match that. People were worried we might struggle to score from them in the summer break.08/09 : 5 (6 if u count villa) : stoke X 2, city, blackburn, arsenal Added on September 14, 2009, 8:44 pmWell, the fans should be able to take that if they were happy enough to abuse him throughout the game. But saying that, Adebayor shouldn't have done that celebration.. things could really turn ugly.. thousand fans running onto the pitch and kick the shit out of him.. example. QUOTE(Pain_X @ Sep 14 2009, 10:01 PM) I agree that what he did was obviously wrong. But i can understand where its coming from. He wasn't appreciated by the Arsenal fans in UK ( i don't know about the ones here so i choose not to comment on it) and towards the end of his Arsenal days, his future was left uncertain and it was as if he was no longer wanted there. So the running over to the Arsenal fans to 'show off' was foreseeable and understandable, but not very classy. Well he was the one whoring himself talking about how AC Milan and the others wanted to buy him and him talking about $$ stuff, guess people got pissed off. A bit like the Heinze case, just doesn't involve their hated rivals and talk about the extra $$ stuff. However, there's no excuse for the stamping on RVP's face. It was a veryyyy dangerous thing to do and couldve caused RVP serious and possibly life threatening injuries. I wasn't able to watch the match so i dont know how the pace or how emotionally charged the game was but regardless of that, stamping on a player is a serious offence and he should be fined and banned. ( All above are my opinions and no offence meant to any party ) QUOTE(nimrod2 @ Sep 15 2009, 01:03 AM) It's more than annoying. He just tarnished his reputation by doing that. |

VDS, Foster, PIG=3
Gary, Rio, Vida, Evans, Wes, Evra, O'Shea, Fabio, Rafael=9 Nani, Valencia, Obertan, Park, Tosic=5 Scholes, Fletcher, Giggs, Carrick, Gibson, Hargreaves=6 Rooney, Berba, Owen, Welbeck, Macheda=5 =28 This will mean, Ljajic and the other reserve players we have have no chance whatsoever to play in that season for the first team if we don't register them as part of the main squad of 25. This is a very stupid rule. I understand about the HG bit, but to just limit the team to 25 players.. sheesh. We have 28 players there. This rule will mean it will limit the chances for the youngsters more. What if a promising youngster came up, or a bunch of them and sometimes a chance came up to play them, but because of these stupid rules, we won't get to see them until next season if they make the cut into the main squad. They talk about investing in the youth development, but they should bloody throw away the stupid 90mins/60miles rule first. Why are they run by a bunch of idiots! The clubs are finally starting to do well in Europe, and here they come with these rules.. Added on September 15, 2009, 12:22 pmThey should make it a limit of 25 squad players.. but should allow those under certain age(20 maybe?) to be eligible without making the list. This rule will mean the clubs will buy HG players, but their own talented youngsters(those not special enough to be straight away impressing with the first team, but may take a while to grow) might not make it at all with these stupid rules. Added on September 15, 2009, 12:25 pm** I didn't read properly, but they don't mean a max squad of 25 to be registered right? Hopefully not. Added on September 15, 2009, 12:38 pmOne things for sure it means Foster will now be confirmed as our future #1 unless we can find some other HG GK. That doesn't sound that bad at all. Foster look pretty good since the Chelsea game. Added on September 15, 2009, 12:40 pmGuess this is also why we've been signing a lot of youngsters lately, from abroad. We've prepared for it. Wonder if Ljajic will be eligible. This post has been edited by Wan: Sep 15 2009, 12:40 PM |

We sign him before he's 18, but he won't be here until January. His birthday is in a couple of weeks. Not sure how that would count. Probably won't be eligible. Fabio and Rafael doesn't count too I think.

I say let those players under certain age free to be called up whenever needed. It won't hurt taht much since the youngsters will get chances. But with this, if they're not in the list, they won't get to play at all..

That's good news! Was worried there for a while. They talk about promoting youngsters and introducing these rules only to limit the squad size. Felt a lot better now. So that means Obertan, Ljajic etc can still play even if they don't make the main squad list.

Yeah. Rest Rooney for the derby.
Our wingers should be back since they didn't feature at all almost against Spurs. Nani/Valencia and Park on the wings, two CMs.. play Carrick so he can get into the swing of things again. |

After the change and we went with 442, we straightaway played far better than we did. Suddenly out attacks were working and the players found more space to move into and players to pass to, and the wingers can beat their marker and put in crosses.. SAF, 433/451 only for the big games please.
