turn off dosent have any effect.
not sure why u need to turn off since it is an extra 133mhz free.

maybe can turn it off by turning off the turbo boost in bios.
here ~ http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/cpus/2009...s-core-i5-750/1

the temp will remain the same.
my processor last time idle also 49 and load up to 79.
so it is the same.

recommended to just change the cooler.

Want to see the setting and temp.

Ts. You should do a oc database like the AMD thread.
At least we refer for reference.

the i5 stock cooler is really like a slice of bread over the processor :/ ... so far.. there aint many after market cooler around yet.. tho i realized that those push-pin type mounts on the LGA775 holes can cover the small the gap on the i5's mounting holes... thus.. you can actually throw on a xigmatek s1283 on the i5 system by removing the stock push-pins and replace them with screws smile.gif .. i did the same to my sunbeam CCF (drilled bigger holes on the mounts)
