sorry ... not to taunt you but how can you said defence play well when arbeloa let pedro get the pass and go to the box and score ?
*
yeah, arbeloa didn't perform well in that match. Plus the counter-attack, arbeloa really out off positioning.

Xabi Alonso not up to the task? Nvm then, Liverpool will gladly trade you Rafa for him.  whistling.gif

Btw Verx, your avatar is one of those girls from that Korean band that keeps on being played in LY Plaza?
*
Xabi Alonso is a key player of the team so no chance tongue.gif
He plays deeper than Xavi though so he's not really able to exert his influence much on the final third.

And I haven't been to LYP in quite a while but I'm assuming yes laugh.gif

Because the defence is not only about 1 player? They only had 4 shots on target. How many teams can you name me that have limited Barca to that amount of shots?

You're happy with your defense? I'd think that whoever is in charge next season would want to bring in someone to partner Pepe. From what I've seen of Albiol, I've not been impressed.

And I haven't been impressed with Vidic whenever I watch him. wink.gif

The defense is not perfect of course. But defense isn't just about the backline.
We definitely will bring in somebody because Metzelder won't be here next season I think.
Our LB position also needs an upgrade but the market is kinda thin on that one.

What I would really like to see improve is our ball retention. We gave the ball away very cheaply at times like it was a disease or something. That isn't right. Players have to want the ball and not give it away like free candy.

based on the upcoming fixtures. RM have relatively easier fixtures compared to barca. barca would still have to face villareal n atletico??

based on the table, the most difficult match for RM could be valencia.

hmm.... keeping my fingers cross.

I believe its Villareal and Sevilla... RM besides Valencia also have Mallorca. Barca has 3 bottom team yet to play which RM already played. So... i think Barca has easier match...

I said the defence played well.. not Awesome.. messi had to work his way through.. in pedro's case it was a through ball .. waddya expect? if one were to judge a defender's ability by 1 through ball that ended up in a goal.. the only good defenders are in Video games..

barca will play atletica at home and villareal at away.. so i think.. home match is nothing to them.. what is crucial is away games.. and i pretty sure that thier away match is easier than us.. so, chance of winning the league, i would say.. near to zero percent.. unless, barca screw-up unexpectedly.. but, seem it wouldn't happen.

we have to play against mallorca and not to forget.. almeria.. tricky team.. go check their stats.. their home game is pretty good.

yup.. agreed.. our defense play quite well.. 2nd goal was not easy to avoid.. all our back 4 played high to close the gap between midfielder.. so what more can we did? tactical-wise it was right.. but, the down side was, aebaloa is pretty slow to catch up pedro to shot.. same goes to other 2, garay and albiol.. IF, ramos playin at arbeloa position, to me.. the chance to intercept pedro from scored is bigger..

well, we can see, in barca.. they have puyol who is experience and FAST.. the is the main reason why the can deal with through ball well.. IMO..

anyway.. from the match.. to me we play so-so only, though we had higher number of shot, but, it was came after barca scored.. after guti came in.. our midfield seems better.. IF VDV score.. i think, the result may be different..

nothing to be sad or disappointed, we lose to the best team in the world.. and we have to contain 2 best player rite now.. xavi and messi.. sweat.gif so just enjoy the rest of remaining games.. and we will try again next year.. wink.gif hope we can get our exclusive 10.. wub.gif

2nd goal could have been easily avoided actually. I've watched the replay. Arbeloa had an absolute brainfart there. He was caught too deep because he was busy marking Pedro and not paying attention to the defensive line we were holding. By the time he tried to push up it was too late.

i dono.. maybe its easier to say.. IMO.. his position is right.. just at the same level with others back 3.. but when he saw pedro make a run, and thru ball is coming, then he decide to chase pedro, when he know pedro is on side.. so nothing can be done.. and it is typical offside trap that 'trapped' by thru ball..

You need to watch a few secs before that. He was caught way deep. He stepped up to be level with Albiol and Ramos but once you do that it's very hard to change direction again which is why he was burned by Pedro. And Garay was drawn too far up as well leaving the gap there.

barca play well against arsenal, but just playing normal football against us, they just got their best opportunity to beat our careless defence..

we played better attacking football than barca that just control the possesion in the midfield.. but barca good in building a half of bus parking technique too tongue.gif

meaning we play too easy for barca last match.. too easy give away the ball, ridiculous passing, unsuccesfull pass, tackle etc...

and we not at our best side last match. smile.gif they didnt even outplayed us.. maybe our last 6-2 result they outplayed us.. blush.gif

our new rebuild team players seems very nervous when against barca.. but not with other team that we easily beat them like valencia, getafe, sevilla and deportivo..

Hurm.. from what I see, our team is nervous when there's enormous pressure from the press.

El Clasico was not the only match RM being edgy. Against Lyon RM were fairly showing anxiety except Ronaldo. Again in this game, only Ronaldo have the confidence to play like always but others are doing their job just to make sure they won't be the scapegoat (which is what the press searching for), and when the press got nothing or maybe the person to blame wasn't interesting, they targeted pellegrini's head which for most of people who didn't watch the game will think that Pellegrini didn't do his job.

Players like Higuain have to start build the confidence and be calm. But the most important thing is, the defenders + gago must learn not to give away ball in such pacy game. Not in any games they should do that. They have to learn to pass equally improve their positioning because we wouldn't loss if we never concede.
