The goal really came from nowhere, a totally unexpected one.
Karma maybe, didn't give Arshavin the penalty and he scored an undisputable one for him.

A goal that seals the match, maybe and hopefully.

It has to be said we were very poor in that first half. Arshavin's goal was the saving grace of an otherwise poor half from our midfield, Arshavin himself included. The passing has been terrible today IMO.

Then again Man Utd don't look like they are at their best either. Which ever team that picks it up in the 2nd will be the likely winners IMO.

Arshavin makes up the lack of bite from the forwards.

Hopefully second half we'll improved on that department. Else AW need to do some astute substitution.

Decisions are against us obviously. They tackled us countless time but only awarded one yellow card.

Does diving include acting? Fletcher really looked 'innocent' after tackling arshavin without touching the ball. Is it considered ' an intent to deceive the referee? '

What a c*nt.

I think Gallas should be the captain. He's doing really good in keeping Rooney quiet and his influence in the game is quite superb. Almunia should feel safe with him guarding the goal post biggrin.gif

My thoughts exactly. Eboue has offered nothing at all. 0 width and no creativity.

Hopefully there will be some magical words from Arsene which can transform our midfielders. They seem nervous and hesitate quite frequently.

Song has done well with many crucial tackles and interception.
Denilson look nervous and Eboue does nothing spectacular. Bring on Bendtner for Eboue and Eduardo for Van Persie?

ok frak, shav's earlier penalty shout looks genuine to me. i want UEFA to pull video evidence after the game. then let the media circus pick it up and make fletcher look like an abomination to the game for 'intent to deceive the referee'.

...now that's not what we want to see in football, do we?

LOL...

Arsene, you know what to do after the game... let's all whine and moan to the authorities !!!

Half time report:
1. Intense match. Both sides are evenly matched. MU's passing is surprisingly sloppy tonight, but ours ain't exactly top notch either.

2. The sopcast commentators don't have much to praise about MU, so they are turning their attention to attacking Arsene and Arsenal instead. What a bunch of f*ckers.... good thing Andy shut them up.

3. Gallas is on fire.... Gazi, deal please.

4. Without Fabs our midfield lacks creativity. Song and Denilson were lively but too busy mopping up the mess. Diaby offers brute and physique but again he takes too much time on the ball. Yet it's a very tight match so as long as our midfielders keep shutting MU out I'm not going to complain too much. The front 3 lacks the support from the midfield - Robin is being sandwiched by their two CBs, while Andy was sloppy before his goal. But you can see his confidence coming and I think we may see more Russian magic in the second half. Eboue is playing more like a midfielder rather than a forward but he's combining well with Bak so no complaints there.

5. Andy....1 down, 4 to go.... come on come on !!!!

6. As expected, we're not getting any protection at all. We lost a penalty from Andy, Robin got booked for no apparent reason, and a lot of players are getting smacked. But I'm liking the fact that our boys are standing up to the physicality of the game and fighting back as well. Last season we might be too lembut but over this summer Denilson and Song have truly grown in stature.

Right decision from arsene for not starting Eduardo. Can't imagine if he can stand all the biased from the ref. sweat.gif

our midfielders are doing good at this moment (diaby, denilson, song). They defend very well. They can't be blamed for losing possession and that's because this is a very high tempo game (even manu midfielders lose a lot of possession as well).
