QUOTE(kabuto rider kick @ Sep 13 2009, 05:21 PM) thats what angered me all nite, for godsake drop Bendtner already You got it wrong here Mr. Kabuto. Bendtner is an excellent player. It was AW tactics that make him look bad. He is not a winger.I repeat he is not a winger. Why he was deployed at the flanks is still in question. He is capable enough to be a 1st team player but surely not as a winger. Furthermore, he was returning back with two goals during the international break. For Diaby I have to agree with you.He is just.... crapRosicky didn't start because he is still not in full fitness. You wouldn't want him to play only one game but miss the rest |

So the FA seem unimpressed by Ade's antics and rightly so. Lets see what sort of action is taken against him.
There were calls from pundits for City to punish Ade as well. I don't think this will happen though as clearly Mark Hughes will not have the balls to do so. |

QUOTE(toshio14 @ Sep 13 2009, 05:55 PM) Cesc - poor even when he get an assist. wake up fast, and realize you are the captain of the Arsenal (4) Robin - had to be more deadly in the box. get himself in a very good position a few times but always seems to be hesitant to trigger the final blow. and, please please stop aiming for the tiang (5.5) Robin is very unfortunate to miss all those chances, and I think he must have owed the goalpost in his past life. As mentioned, he was one of the few that played their hearts out yesterday, and with the scant support he got from his mates I think he actually did OK. QUOTE(kabuto rider kick @ Sep 13 2009, 06:47 PM) i didnt made these statement based only on his last nite performance, but other previous matches as well, and last season too,i've been cursing him for the same reason since last season,he simply didnt improves watsoever, how long he has been with Arsenal again? *sigh* i love Arsenal and the team is all about beautiful football and i dont see that whenever Bendtner is playing, cuz he is all about crap playing... As for Nicky "simply didn't improve whatsoever", geesh... You're not observing properly. From a lanky clumsy striker who only nods the ball, he has developed another aspect of his game which allows him to play deeper and linkup/make passes. It wasn't Nicky's best performance yesterday but it wasn't his worst game. Playing on the wing doesn't suit him either... You can't be shit if you score 2 goals consecutively for your country right?Nicky works best when a speedy, tricky striker is playing alongside him... He marveled with Dudu and then Vela. Last night the front three were far too static and there was zero interchange and speed, that's why it didn't really work. When Tommy came on he added the much-required zippiness and immediately Robin got more of the ball. |

Saying Bendtner crap is baseless.Last season is only his 1st full season with Arsenal(correct me if i am wrong). You also didn't realize that he improves a lot towards the end of last season. He is just getting use to playing out wide. Look at the Carling cup, international or whenever he was playing as a striker he could score goals.
You want Eboue to play as a winger?See what happened during Arsenal vs Man U.He is just ineffective playing there. And congratz to Van Persie. He just added his tally of hitting the post.Pity him. This post has been edited by gummerz: Sep 13 2009, 07:09 PM |

I would like to defend Bendtner here. I think he's a promising young fella and like what gummerz said, he is playing at the wrong position. He can never play as a winger or even support striker. His best position is central striker.
I tot when AW sold Ade Bendtner would have more chances to impress fellow Gooners this season but i was surprised when AW deployed him on the flanks. I tot RvP would be playing on the flanks like what he did for Holland and Bendtner on central position like what he did for Denmark. Clearly this didn't happen and i do not know how long AW ll realise his mistake. Or maybe he has some other ideas where by deploying giant against shorter wingbacks is better than putting giant vs giant defenders. only AW can answer it. And Diaby isn't such a bad player. He's young. That's his main problem. Young and inexperience although he has been playing for quite awhile. He tends to overdo stuffs, like running and dribbling. Again, he plays best in central role not flanks. If you watch d Portsmouth match u ll know that is his best position, not the flanks! Probably for yesterday's game AW should have started Eboue instead of Diaby. Eboue passes and crosses bettter. even dribble much better than Diaby. And he plays on the flanks. I was quite angry to see us loose but credit to ManCity who showed much more character and mental strength. When i watch Sp*rs vs ManU match last nite i was asking myself, why can't Arsenal players have such strong winning mentality like ManU players where they were 1-0 down in such an early part of the game and yet still able to fight back to win the game 1-3! |

we need an influential captain now, someone like roy keane...
no matter how talented and how much experience he had. cesc is neither adam nor a captain material yet. passing not as fluent as the bergkamp era tat can unlock any defence dribbling not as good as henry era where he can go past any players finishing not as deadly as wright era where he can score from any position in the box. seems like they started to become ordinary game after game. maybe i should stop watching arsenal game lolz... everytime i dint watch, they win.. i watch both manchester match and they lost both games. |

Yesterday's lost was due to a one-off poor performance, but I am reluctant to think that we are a poor team. We were never the inferior team vs MU, we blasted Everton and Celtic, we were sloppy against Pompey but still technically superior. The lads just need to pick themselves up and play like they did against Everton - non stop running, fluid interchanging of positions, and being disciplined enough to track back and defend. i still think we need a world class keeper to get us a clean sheet..
a keeper who could give command and coordinate to our defences. lets look the next match to see how our team play... |
