G'day there peeps!, im thinking getting my very first LCD TV as my old TV its dying (color fading etc.).

Im pretty noob in this LCD TV, what should i look for?.. esp. nowadays theres 60hz, 100hz, and now 600hz?!... its that just marketing trick?..

Btw, my budget its rm3.5k (whats the best value for that budget either LCD or Plasma recommendation its fine, do tell why tho..^^) for 40inch and above (with good stand as im not planning to wall-mount it).

Lastly... juz wondering.. its it a good time to buy?.. (i know.. i know... thats pretty lame question blush.gif).

Thanks in advanced for those who replied wink.gif

(Fyi : will be using for movies and PS3 games).

Cheers smile.gif

I might sound a little blunt but you should do some reading/reviews on your own after getting recommendations.

I got a good deal on Panasonic 42" Full HD Plasma, P42S10K below RM3000. RM3500 will land you on 42" Plasma on most brands.

hehe...now you can see forummers are divided into two...LCD and Plasma users

Plasma user..hehe like me...swear by them...even against LCDs that are FULLHD.
The Plasmas natural colors, better blacks and nice view from wider angles just wins...

If wanna talk about sharpnest of a FullHD how sharp you want a picture to be?
Are you using Bluray sources for you TV? For the normal DVD, Astro or even MKV files..
Plasma is just right. Of course Plasma also has FullHD models but are expensive.

Get the Panny Plasma smile.gif

acterly not so much cheaper.. I think only 250-300 difference..

for that amount, you are getting 1million lesser pixel (between 1366x768 and 1920x1080).. which I think not so good bargain.. biggrin.gif

so far the 600hz is panasonic plasma TV, not LCD TV, LCD TV highest is 200Hz and it is more smoother than plasma 600hz.

most of the LCD TV are around 60hz or 100hz while 200hz is for higher end model.

i recommend you go for samsung series 6 LCD TV 32"

Sorry to borrow your thread bro, i am a noob who is looking for a Full HD TV

So far got these 2 Panny models in my mind which are Plasma 42S10K and LCD 37G10K. Their price are about the same but don't know which is better

Therefore, got few things to consider as below which are:
Screen Size: 42>37 plasma wins
For Astro: ???
For Xbox and PS3: ???
For RMVB Movies: ???
Picture quality(sharpness,brightness etc): ???
The user always pause game or leave tv on: ???
Image retention or burn in: ???

Don't know what else i can consider, if u do please list them out...
I hope all the brothers and sisters here can help me out...Any comments are welcome...thanks a lot sweat.gif

I sincerely apologised as the offer has been temporary removed from the site. We been had by one of our main suppliers. Apparently it was comfirmed as plenty of stocks, at the last minutes, we were informed as offer been withdrawn.

Thanks
