Only if you have streamyx. Like me, don't have, fully depends on celcom broadband sad.gif

Thankfully, my speed at home is very good just now. Glad to be home! rclxm9.gif

I think it's possible, if the reception in that area is not so strong hmm.gif

hi i'm back at my hometown at Perlis. I found that my celcom broad band is so slow. Please refer to my picture for proof. Is there any setting I can tweak to have higher speed. Right now I just connect using GPRS. Whats the difference between 3G and GPRS ? Any speed advantages between this 2?

Your Celcom "broad"band just became Celcom Narrowband. GPRS is a very-very slow network. Comparable to dialup. Not all areas have 3G, a lot have GPRS. There is no tweak possible to make GPRS faster. It's just how the technology is. smile.gif Check Celcom's coverage map to see if any 3G service is available near where you are. From the looks of it only Kuala Perlis, Kangar, Arau, Pauh and Kg. Ulu Pauh have 3G.

haha...me too...balik "kampung already".. rclxm9.gif

what makes me feel bad is my connection here using GPRS (although my modem shows EDGE signal i dun think Celcom do really provide EDGE here n not even here but also throughout the country.. if they do really have EDGE technology, wonder why they dun advertise the technology like Maxis EDGE [not to mention Digi EDGE since they got widest EDGE coverage]...any comment on diz guys?...so i guess im on GPRS mode)

fuh.. sweat.gif sweating to finish speedtest... sweat.gif

here in rural area... lambor kanan, perak (covered by "jelapang padi" around here.. cool2.gif

my speed using Celcom Malaysia GPRS connection profile -->

tested using Celcom Malaysia 3G connection profile -->

look at da ping... shakehead.gif

any suggestion? should i continue using GPRS profile since it looks more stable to me (no dc but slower than 3G profile) compared to 3G profile (connection keeps "idle" but web appear faster)... hmm.gif

no matter what as long as i can do lite surfing here, its more than enough for me...thank god i manage to surf the net..

i've got covered...still remember celcom TV commercial on widest GSM coverage? "orang asli" one if im not mistaken brows.gif celcom...Telco for jungle tongue.gif... nod.gif

(hope to monopolize n conquer the transmission tower here...if someone steal it from me means my speed allocation will be reduced... then i'll cry.gif )

OT. Peeps, if you cannot tahan the speed, get a DiGi prepaid SIM and load it up in your modem. It's RM 5 per day (within same day) with 100MB limit. If you really cannot tahan the speed lah.

It is possible but by right it shouldn't affect by much until the speed drops like a snail. Astro uses satellite so it will definitely be affected when it rains.
