dell inspiron n5010 user here. [i5, w7 home 64bit]

the dell webcam software is a MAJOR disappointment, after like 3 months of using it, it cant even detect movements! just keep freezing on its own. but luckily, can video call normally.

i opted for the ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5650 - 1GB bcoz i plan to use adobe cs5 in the future. and it has given me blue screen once, display driver malfunction 3 times..

does anyone have the same problem? also, i notice sometimes the display will goes grainy (flickering grain) too.

is this normal? plan to send back to them soon!

u should call them.. they will ask u to run dell diagnostics press F12 once u switch on the laptop.. test all 1st.. make sure got error! i less play webcam but the built in webcam u dun expected too much! i never get BSOD b4.. http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages...115ahotfix.aspx

Hi guys, I was wondering whether there are any new Inspiron 14R users here? The one with Sandy Bridge?
I'm curious whether the laptop itself comes with 1 or 2 RAM slots? Usually there should be 2, but the RAMs given by Dell Malaysia suggested that there's only one

Also, which Dell's warranty is international? As in can be transferred to the US?

y din ask me?? 4GB (1 X 4GB) 1 DIMM DDR3 1333Mhz come with 1 slot lah but got 4 slots of ram! use 1 left 3

dell international 1 yr.. can transfer to any country as long the country got dell company! so US sure no problem!

can handle ultra but below 40fps.. can run perfect at medium setting for sure.. high also but if playing hrs maybe not u expected by the way can handle many games for sure.. rmb still lappy gpu!

Your model is different la lol But I've checked with Dell, its 2 slots for the new one as well.

So if you opt for the RM2,399 Inspiron 14R rather than the RM2249 one (with 2 years warranty); then extend the warranty to 3 years; you'd be paying RM310 more for 2GB more RAM and an extra 140GB.... What a way to eat our money Potential buyers beware!

*The better solution would be to get the RM2249 one, then upgrade the RAM yourself since it has 2 RAM slots lol, that way you save a lot more

Just asked Dell agent, it seems that only 3 years Next Business Day warranty is international; also, whether the warranty is valid in a certain country or not depends on whether the particular laptop is sold in that country or not

tan ji.. as long u upgrade 3 yrs warranty, u call them make a quotation for u.. dell with this case.. u can ask for discount depend ur skills if u din extend then hard.. change color for the skin is foc u can request it! other stuff u demand for urself but be reasonable.. 14R not come with 1 pc of 4gb ram meh?? u can ask also

Added on June 19, 2011, 11:44 amu can double click the scroll browser & u just drag ur touch-pad whether u like up & down.. the fastest & easiest way is u cursor..

press the power button where u switch on ur lappy.. just press "once" w/o closing the lid, now sleep mode was on..
how to switch it back? close the lid, open the lid, press again the power button "once" then the windows will be resuming..
