I'm actually quite skeptical bout the no monthly fee scheme. The reason why I stopped GW is that, it has very very limited added content. And once you're done with the game's current PvE, there's nothing else to do except PvP-ing. Which was fun but, it wont last long, gets stale pretty quick from my experience.
Where as other MMOs like, say, WoW, you get a lot of updates and contents and stuffs and a lot more frequently. And I can choose to either PvP or PvE.
That said, I'm almost certain that I'm getting this

I'm quite skeptical on the no monthly subscription fee part myself after seeing the trailer.
GW is said to be a casual MMOG so for players who are slightly more hardcore then usual it gets old quite fast. I on the other hand have no time for grindy games such as Wow (no to mention wasting the subscription paid every month) since I haven't much time to be dedicated to gaming so GW suit me just fine. (Haven't finish a lot of things till date

)
You can't blame GW for being what it is since their business model & concept are quite different from average MMOGs. GW is more like a single player game with extra online capability rather than a game made especially for online play. Since there is no monthly fee ArenaNet will not have enough revenue to fund their development for new content on the existing game. Wow on the other hand charge a substantial monthly fee every month from everyone which helps keep the game alive with new content. F2P games usually got their revenue from ingame shop making F2P games doesn't really seems like F2P (I think some made more money than Wow doing this).

The thing is, I'm a bit of a scrooge with my money, so as long as I'm actively paying a monthly fee for something, I feel "compelled" to play it just to make sure I get my money's worth (Which made my first and only month of subbing to WoW... feel like a job). With GW I never had the compulsion to play it because I *needed* to get my money's worth... I could do it whenever I liked (Until today I still haven't finished the PvE missions... Just played a dozen or so missions after Ascension)
The downside is that the playerbase may fluctuate from time to time depending on whether ppl are in the mood to play... So, my grand plan now is to just get as many friends as possible in and then whenever someone's in the mood, hop in for a quick fix and that's it.
Funny thing is, I loved GW for the PvE... Didn't really bother much with the PvP. But, I might just give it a shot this time around.
APB is just a sandbox FPS online, so I know I'll love it out of the box.

There are a number of local GW players which are still quite active in the game. Feel free to look us up whenever you see us online. (I am usually on during the weekends).
