Had a BD marathon? brows.gif

So, watched 2001? Guess not, if you did you'll be fast asleep already. But most people didn't find it boring really, but the whole plot that makes scratch their head and finally dismiss it as crap.

I'm quite free today, thinking of re-watching Hellboy II. biggrin.gif

The advantage of NOT having a tracking from Amazon is... when your parcel went missing or your parcel kena tax kaw-kaw and you refuse to pay or your parcel kena confiscate from Ketam/KDN etc etc.... then you can tell Amazon it's missing and can request for replacement and/or refund etc.  laugh.gif

Wif tracking, you can't lie, right...  biggrin.gif

Aha, gotcha! So you lied to Amazon before saying your standard delivery package was missing huh? brows.gif tongue.gif

Gladiator region free or not ?
*
The release in US is confirmed to be locked to Region A, probably due to different studio distributing it outside US. As we're in the same region with, nothing to worry. This is the first time Paramount region-locks their title. Same goes for Braveheart.

In UK, the rights for Braveheart is owned by Fox, while Gladiator by Universal. Universal might lock their UK release of Gladiator to Region B for the same reason, though it would be the first for them too. No confirmation yet for the UK release.

How to check whether our parcel stuck at kettam or not ?
*
Three scenarios:

1. Standard shipping: You'll receive a call from a sexy Pos Malaysia personnel. You have to drive to that big post office near LCCT Sepang, and walk through few counters, pay and bring home yourself.

2. Priority (DHL/UPS): Check tracking online, see something like "customs clearance delayed" after arrival, then in few hours you'll receive a call from a hot DHL/UPS personnel. They'll just acknowledge you, and get your approval to pay and handle on your behalf. You pay to DHL/UPS when they deliver.

3. The first 2 scenarios are just for customs case only. If KDN/FINAS/Censorship Board involved, the plot thickens. You have to write letters, etc and the whole thing could take weeks to months.

Everybody has their own preference.

For me, personally, I only have one exception for lossless audio, the documentaries.

But the concerts & movies MUST have lossless audio. If not, I won't buy it, I don't wanna spend so much for half the quality. Just wait, they'll be a new release. Superman Returns got no lossless audio in the original release, but now it's been re-released with both Dolby TrueHD and PCM 5.1.

""Sound is 50 percent of the movie experience" - George Lucas

Even for those with old AV receivers can still enjoy lossless audio if the receiver and the player itself has analogue multi-channel interconnection.

Some people can even appreciate the difference between 128kbps and 320kbps MP3 songs, let alone between MP3 and FLAC. How would one not hear difference between lossless and lossy is beyond me. But I admit the fact that some people really can't.

Azxel, we both already agreed not all people can hear the difference. So I'm not going to argue anymore, if they can't hear the difference there's no point discussing equipment, bitrates, cost, etc.

I don't mean argument in a bad way, maybe I used the wrong word there. I've always been an open mind, those were my opinions, nothing there at all saying you're wrong. I was just trying to provide solutions to those with older receivers. If he responds with another excuse, then there'll be no satisfying to him. One will need to have all the right equipment to hear lossless, this can always be done at a friends place, or at the HT shops. If he spends a lot but in the end if he still can't hear the difference, the whole goal will not be achieved. If you feel offended then please accept my apologies. icon_rolleyes.gif

UP is the most serious movie from PIXAR ever, the theme and message is very adult, my wife almost had tears. Really touching story overall, but not as fun as their earlier ones like my favorite Finding Nemo. The laughs are very few, Aiman was mostly quiet, but he likes it nonetheless. Solid 4/5 stars.

Quite a number of outlets... The Curve, 1 Utama, Subang Parade, Bangsar Village... and Mid Valley I think.

If anyone knows 1Utama, the former Tower records (level 2 opposite Secret Recipe) now occupied by a new Audio/Video store (can't remember name) oso stock Blu-rays. Saw yesterday most titles sold for RM119.90 with 10% rebate... dunno wat dat means, never had the chance to ask.

It's part of their distributing deal even before the film released in theaters. Universal owns the rights for European market while Paramount for USA. Simple as that. smile.gif

With Amazon, even though the price shoots up after you placed the order (but pending shipping), you'll be charge as is, when it eventually ship... even a month later! But if the price drops after you placed order but waiting for shipment, you can request for the lower rate and 10 out of 10, they will honor it  nod.gif
*
Last year it was part of their policy, they must honor the price difference and refund (if requested). But now it's no longer a policy, you can try to request but it will be based on their goodwill only, they have the rights not to refund you anymore.

QUOTE(arremie @ Aug 27 2009, 04:43 AM)
hmmm none of the title in my cart increase. anyway bd60 also takes forever to load if bd live enabled.
*
I just turn put "Don't Allow" in my player's setting. That way it will not even check if there is a network, BD-Live will be bypassed altogether.

I keep reading problems with Pioneer BDPs. All those excellent reviews for PQ doesn't matter anymore, if I'm paying so much but slow loading and so many discs can't read, will just make me mad and throw it into the river. Terribly overrated.

Amazon is like that guys, you have to have patience. The prices go up and down every few days, just need to find the right time then buy it.

Anyway, why didn't you guys get Band of Brothers from Amazon UK, just less than RM150 including shipping. The rating logos are only on the outer paper cover, the tin box inside has none of the logos at all. Just like my Higlander.
