the SS L0D pic from Nightstalker make me thought of something

i wonder why do the flashlight menufacturer
dont make something that is useful for the non flashaolic

other then only flashlights

something like this USB led light or
an USB adapter to power our Powerful light icon_rolleyes.gif
or even an adapter to power the flashlight head from the wall socket  hmm.gif

dont you think that is more useful then just for flashlight use onli

we can use our light to lite up our home, notebook, or as night light but with out battery  whistling.gif

they been making flashlight for years,
why they never come out with things like there? hmm.gif

hehe, i thought abt the same thing before. But i realise LED flashlights setup are alot different than household LED lightings.

It's good that they can come out with an adaptor and diffuser to make our flashlight head a house lamp. But conversion from AC to DC is not cheap, moreover need to consider the power factor so won't end up in low efficiency or LED burning. Heat sinking is a big issue if you would run for very long hours as a household lamp. People like us with experience would know how to leave the light on in general mode, but only good for ambience, not for reading. Household lightings are generally meant to switch on and switch off, no maintenance until replacement. You'll have users to treat a flashlight like a flourescent lamp, a very expensive "flourescent" lamp. It's either they design a flashlight only or household lightning only.

In LED professional website, manufacturers like Philips, design LED household lights but look at how large their heatsink. The light need to perform under serious circumstances.

Energizer has come out with household LED lighting as well, but it has a DC adaptor to recharge the batteries, which is a better cheaper solution. Their product is quite innovative, the head lamp can switch with different host and become a table lamp, flashlight, lantern, wall lamp. But don't know about quality.

We have a local LED household lightning research company in Malaysia called Tim International. I saw their booth in One-U earlier this year. I sent him emails and kept in contact for a while and was willing to try out his household lightings. But so far no progress. I've also ask him about his flashlights which I saw on the booth, but he said they are not focussing on flashlights that time. Don't know what's the status of the company. Website still under construct.

I am using http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.4151 to charge 4.2V battery, and add a diode when charging the LifePO4 (hehe, will take picture later)
Interesting, would like to see a pic of the diode, you mean a resistor?

For some reason, I can't load DX anymore... looks like it just got blocked from here vmad.gif

if scare they use turbo mode all the time,

just limit it to 100 lumens or so with the adapter
then no need to worry about heat n will last longer.

after all if ur the manufacturer u can set the specs wink.gif

u dont have to apply the flashlight specs when making these things

True also, limit to 100L. But normally the driver is at the head, so mode changing is depended there. I have a funny thought, imagine doing this to your wall socket switch: Flip switch on for Low, switch on/off for Medium, on/off again for High.. bwahaha, but you can do the mode changing limit at the adaptor.

Would you buy something like that? A 3-plug socket adaptor which can screw in the LED flashlight head. The base can turn 360 deg to any position you like brows.gif But the adaptor must be very reliable and efficient.

Haih.. pretty hard.. I would prefer a local person...

Easier to make arrangements. And most of them are selling off their M6s rather than trading... sad.gif

I just require the M6 host which can take in 3x18650.

Or if there is someone out there who already has that set up together with a Seraph P7 module installed and is willing to trade, that would be best...

Cause I plan to install the Seraph P7 module but i have yet to buy it. Out of stock currently.

SF M6 host cannot take 3x18650. FM's body the Megalennium takes that battery config. M6 can take 3x17670 only using FM's battery holder.
Another way is to take the whole package from Josey, then sell off those parts that you don't need. May actually work out to be cheaper in the end. The only downside is the initial layout which is a lot. If it was me, I'd go that route.

Actually there are local companies doing it.

Search for power micro technology.

They have a MR8 and MR16 lights that replaces halogens but far less output I think. I've also seen them being used in display cases in shopping malls. Look for lights that don't look like halogens.

MR8 & MR16

I think they are Luxeon LEDs

OK ... gotcha. Purely an LED setup huh? You should try the M6 incand setup - it's just crazy output, especially with the 1185 bulb.

Finally!!

"Also tested the Quark Titanium Tactical 123 Squared or 2X123 light in the high mode. It turned on at 240 and dropped to 227 after 1 minute using 2XRCR123's from AW." -MrGman, CPF

Which put the buck-boost versions about 215 lumens. Sweet!
