hey just wanna ask ...

for a normal rounded strings. mostly ppl will say the thinner gauge will give you more spins as it's wider gap in between strings compared to a thicker ones. But is that the other way round when comparing with a textured string. say for e.g. blackcode, prosupex blue gear etc ?
coz i came across this site selling blue gear and the seller mentioned that the thicker gauge will give you more spins (as the gears will be more prominent) compared to the thinner gauge 17/18 which is much thinner and thus making the gears less engaging.

what do you make of that ?

As for the grip no need to fight la Sophis n Yan.
Since both of you are single handers, just cut it into 2 and wrap half of the handle lo.
Just like Corretja style ; )
*
haha no problem lah ...can share 1 ... i won't makan all ... share share loh. sophis or kokoloxxx also can. no problem. anyways i just phoned the shop who gave me the tourna for demo purpose...here also can get lah.. so dun hav to rebut rebut ... and since he was so kind to pass me one sample to test i'm gonna buy from the shop. so go ahead guys to buy fr lelucky

anyways i just finished playing with some frens.. well surprisingly using the tourna the 2nd time. i feel i dun have to grip the racq that hard anymore. and for the first time, no more blisters and no more hardening of the callous. even my existing big size blister at my palm din get worst and it was actually easy on my arms. midway i changed to chris's k6.1 95 with the pro grip and guess what i was gripping it harder and started to feel pain again .. then i went back to the tourna and hey presto .. was much nicer. but one thing is that it doesn't last as long as the pro grip. after 2sessions i think the grip is starting to pecah. but what to do i guess i found a suitable grip for my delicate palm.. so will be buying those from now.

anybody wanna buy my pro grips ? i just bought 2 boxes (12 sets of 3s) .. PM me .. selling cheap smile.gif

the tourna grips are great, only drawback is the durability. like ten yrs back it was almost difficult to see another grip other than the light blue tourna grip on the atp tour. but of course pros can get them for free mah...  tongue.gif
*
how true. i'm guessing my palm always get blisters maybe coz the pro grip is super tacky and grabs my skin making me hold them tighter.. but with tourna it's quite smooth and thus i feel can hold looser a bit. weird yar i know .. but funny that's what happened to me just now. wink.gif

too bad durability. but if price almost same as wilson .. i'll giv it a try

erm... just finished going back (quite) a few pages and now I understand what this is about  doh.gif

...susah la like this one  rclxub.gif ... anyways, I just have to say that Rules being Rules, and to prevent the thread and its followers (both old and new) from being distracted, or worse fed-up with the non-related chatter, why don't we just agree to keep the empty chit-chat to a minimum (of course la have to have chit-chat, or not this would be like a dusty goverment (Go BN!) website) and if anyone feels have to talk kosong, use the PM thingy... I especially agree with (sorry forgot the name) that minors do come in here and it is totally inappropriate to subject them to such chatter (however fun that may be )...

...and I detect the formation of camps in here, so to nip this in the bud, I would suggest a pow-wow between us all, smoke the peace-pipe, down some firewater (read: teh tarik)... Why can't we all just... get along???

p.s. okay I will be the first to admit i have no standing in LowYat, formal or otherwise... just would like us all to have a nice time in here... can right? so, smoke-um the peace pipe, everyone?

p.p.s ...though I have not played for almost 11 years now, I bet I still have something left to claim some player seniority in here  flex.gif biggrin.gif ...so please, don't even try it friend...

wub.gif  wub.gif  wub.gif  wub.gif  wub.gif

haha... the "sorry forgot the name" i think is me ..smile.gif

anyways agree with you that we shud always have some fun chit-chats here but excercise a bit of self-control and dun be too "sensitive" if our buddies here sound us when we deviate. Anyways am loving the forum nowadays since we are almost back to what the forum originally was meant for. As for the bad blood, let's just move on and bury the hatchets. we are here to make friends and to enjoy playing our beloved game..

btw : All the 12 sets of overgrips i hav... all sold. ty everyone.

hey guys totally forgotten about sharing this piece of news..., guess what, Tecnifibre is officially gonna be in Malaysia starting next month.. and the better news is they are setting up their store somewhere near my place smile.gif

Had a good conversation with the boss (over some minum) and he's telling me they are gonna bring in the full range of racquets and also strings. But best thing is they have the same machine that was used to string up the french open and also our malaysian open. Basically the machine is already here and is being used now at the Malaysian open as the official stringing machine. Also found out we have a few common frens, hopefully can get good deals next time for tecnifibre stuffs .keke... My fren is being sponsored by them and will be getting his T-flight 320 vo2max next week or so .. then maybe can giv it a demo ..

You Sir are the Harbinger of Good News!!

I am interested are they bringing reels of Blackcode? Will the price be competitive? Ie significantly cheaper buying in reel or set? Only save 5-10 buxs or more!?!
Bringing in FULL range??!

*drools*
Keep me posted, bud, looking to great things with Tecnifibre!
*
yup .. need to kam-cheng with the boss first.. yah i'm hoping to get a reel too but they only bringing in the reel maybe next mth. they are working closely witht eh singapore distributor Sports Report. heard any good things abt the tecnifibre racqs ?
they were having a sales for the t-flight series at rm899 (free tecnifibre 9racq bag + tecni strings + t-shirt + grip).. i almost kena bait but i chcked my wallet only have rm500+ and they don't have credit card facility and luckily there also no atm. was a spur of moment thingy and nasib baik terlepas .. haha .. i'm just an impulsive buyer ...

Actuallly sportsprises bringing in selected range. but this shop will basically be the full range of all tecnifibre wares and machines as well. but they also will have some of the other brands lah (not final yet).

ah, now that someone brough up technifibre...

anyone who has experience with black code, how would you rank it in terms of comfort ie stiffness compared to SPPP or LBB Alu?

i know of course that the main attributes of polyester isn't comfort, but at the same time dont want to kill my arm. the luxilon was a royal pain...
*
well i've used plenty of blackcodes so far (more than 10x). i would say just giv it a try.. it's pretty comfortable and it's a soft poly 3rd gen i think if not mistaken. definitely softer than luxilon that is a sure thing. as for sppp, i've used it twice but dun feel it's anything to shout about. soft yes, but i wud rate is similar to cyberblue in terms of comfort or i would even put it tat cyberblue seems more comfortable (but then again i can't be sure as the sppp is 16gauge and the cyberblue i used was 17). It's true the spin potential of blackcode is by far more superior than what i've used. however as it's true 20% fr the strings & further 80% from technique. so go figure... technique i'm prob noone to comment thus i need all the spin potential the strings has to offer to increase my spin rate smile.gif

blackcode is priced quite ok in my opinion.. averagely priced at rm69 (plus stringing). hopefully now with more competition from this other new shop, sportsprises will have to reduce their price to stay competitive.. which is a plus for us buyers and users.

happy experimenting...

my next try is hybrid blackcode & x1-biphase..

thanks!

only poly i've used so far is the luxilon, after reading all the hype about it a year back. tried it and really cannot stand it. went back to my tried and tested prince syn gut DF. but with the k61 95 find it a bit too bouncy strung at 55lbs, so looking to hybrid it with a comfy poly for more control.

how much is cyberblue btw? u can get this from memory?

and blackcode? is sportprises currently the only place to get it?
*
as of now.. sportsprises and i think this other smaller shop "the stringers" in Bangsar Village has em.

cyberblue i normally can get abt rm50. u can try no.1 racq shop and also memory sports. i think someone in forum has a reel and can sell u cheaper if not mistaken... he plays at the rain tree or was it KDE.

Redcode is good. So far I have tried and have no complain about it but then again, there is nothing special about it except for the somewhat better tension hold.
*
some wud say the pro supex big ace red is much better than the over-hyped red code >> still can't pass any comments have not tried them yet. but getting a shipment of big ace and blue gear soon. still communicating with the seller for a shipment here to malaysia.
