ok ok . for you bro .. tonight i'll bring my camera. then i'll post it up later on. the free seats i got is very good position. not directly behind the baseline but a bit to the corner. so can see the serves and also the overall angle shot. and as usual it was nearly empty. So we get to move about to other positions to watch fr different angles. Was totally cool. Will try to get some quarters and semis hopefully they kept some for me. wink.gif

BTW : finally saw someone though lower ranking but in the ATP using the PRINCE GRAPHITE EXO3 . One of the players fr C Rochus (BEL) / M Vassallo Arguello (ARG) in the doubles. WAH was so shinny man .. the green can be seen from where we stand. sparkling lagi..haha... too bad din bring camera ..

Take pic's of them serving ie, ball toss position prior before contact, want to see do they really toss 2 feet inside the baseline and leap up and contact for their serve, I know NOT all pro's do this, but us ayam style one, ie me, the best I can do is a may be a feet inside the baseline, beyond that, very high chance, fault, foot fault, sangkut net, you know lah yan, thanks lah bro, you reallly good at layan people one!!!

i'll try my best bro. hopefully my zoom can zoom in that close to the player.. else i might get my fren to bring his professional cam there. check back later tonight. sure will have some nice photos. But you are right on serves. even those players this morning, have awesome serves. Saw one guy with such a good kick, to the opponent's head height. and they are all tall (kwailohs).

or u wanan buy my leather grip ? i have one .. can be considered new but it's attached to a racq. but racq still new unopened(the plastic). coz i can't play with leather.. dun mind selling it to you if u want. then i go grab a softer replacement grip.

...on another topic...

...I was reading a very interesting discussion yesterday, about how this player commented that he uses one face of the racquet when hitting backhand and the other for forehands, which there were two camps for and against (as usual)...

...so i just wanted to ask here, do you favour a particular face for each shot, or do you hit regardless, or even more unusual (i think) like me where I hit both forehands and backhand with only one face of the racquet(!)... which other people also had noticed, since when they check my racquet, only one side of the stringbed has marks while the other side is almost untouched... (I had not noticed that until it was pointed out)

...so, share your experience here and make me feel less like a freak biggrin.gif
*
doesn't this has to do with your grip ? i mean my own personal observation, if you are using for e.g. full western grip. you'll be hitting on the same side of the string bed on your forehands and your backhands. but if you are using an eastern grip and your bh is a backhand eastern ...you'll be hitting a diff side of the racq each time for ur FH & BH ... i don't think you "consciously" think about which side A or B of the racq u r using. mostly is from the grip choice that you play with ...

Hmmm.. Good observation. I never really notice which side of the racket I hit the most. And I don't think it'll give much  difference on which side you're hitting, right?
Does grip really determine which side of the racket you hit? I thought with the same grip, you could hit with either side.
*
mm.. how to put this. very hard to word it out. It doesn't make a difference i thinhk which side of racket u hit.. coz it's identical in some sense. for e.g. when we add more lead to the head. we do it both sides of the frame to achieve balance and consistency. So i feel no difference at all how n which side you hit it. coz yes i do twist the racq whenver i waiting for a shot as that's how to switch fr the BH and FH fast. So i guess we don't scrutinize which side onli we hit right ? rather than concentrating on the ball. (not much time to think which side i'm using) hehe

Also when i say grip determines whether will u always hit the same side is based on hitting a FH and BH. meaning the chance fr both grips tat determines we hit same side or not. just hold up ur racket (if u r eastern) when u switch to BH.. u'll realize u're hitting with the opposite side of the stringbed. when you use a western n hit forehand then switch to a eastern BH.. u'll see that you r still using that same side. smile.gif

TournaGrip has two version. One is the Original Dry and the other one is Tourna Tac (Tacky feel). They also have two length of grip, one is for normal length racket and the other one is XL which is for the LongBody racket I think or maybe if you just need the extra length.

If you wanna try, maybe you can get the 3 pack grip probably around RM 20 - 25.
*
i was given a tourna original dry by a shop to test it out. He was saying it might work well for me as he saw my blisters so suggested that i take one to just demo and see whether that helps. Well i've tried it on my PDRGT last weekend and found that yah it's not as tacky as the Wilson Pro and hence not much friction. However as i sweat, it gets to b a bit wet as it doesn't absorb sweat as good as the wilson pro. however i will still give it a try maybe this weekend. (taking a fast from playing tennis for 1 week after the grueling raya fest tennis marathon but compensating it by watching a lot of ATP .lol)

*
sure or not white hard to find ? black is a b1tch to find...hehe...i just went a bought 2 box load of wilson pro white fr Jetson (bkt baru) few weeks ago. and have spoken to him, will go down tomorrow or when i'm back fr johor on friday to get another 1box + 20crossfires for a friend.

As for the grip, I don't have a super sweaty palms. But I do sweat a lot. And I mean a lot. Actually, the grip would be wet not because of my palm but from the sweats dripping from the head.  sweat.gif  Hehe.

actually u might be right. i think most my sweat comes fr my forearm. so might be a good idea to start wearing sweat bands on my wrist. time to accessorize again ...smile.gif

ah really ah Yan? thanks for the info mate... no idea there was a tennis shop there... uh do you know if they re-string racquets reliably there? my beloved racquets with their 10 year old strings need changing... all the other 'sports-shop' i have been to here use the manual machine... how can i let my babies be subjected to that smile.gif

p.s. you bought a 2 boxes of grips??? ...danggg man... heyyy you come to melaka just pass by or staying? i'm in desperate need for good hitters to hit with... (thought i must state again, I have not hit (properly) at all since 1999... so my memories of myself being a good player is probably very exaggerated in my current state  biggrin.gif)
*
no problem dude.. yah i guess whole melaka that is the onli place i know with decent pricing and frenly owner.. i know he has 2 machines there.. one is a manual and one a digital. as for reliability in stringing, i never tried before as normally i go there just passing by and grab some stuffs only. never had chance to string there yet. can ask those in melaka, celciuz and ahwee87 i think. they are both fr MMU mlk. so maybe can hit with them ?
i tomorrow also passign thru on way down to JB only. sure one of these day if i go mlk will PM u and let's go hit a bit. normally i stay equatorial (with a nice tennis court). saw holiday inn has one nice court too. will possibly go there next trip down to mlk.

Ahhhh grips!!!

I can only recommend 2!
Yonex Superwrap and Gamma Supreme!

Yonex Superwrap in my opinion exactly the same as Wilson Pro Overgrip, but using the OLD formula!!! The current Wilson Pro Overgrip I know for a fact has been getting a LOT of complaints. I have only tried Yonex Superwrap in black, I have noted on some forums, that they have commented that the white is slighly better as it does not have additives/coloring how true is that I cannot confirm.

Gamma Supreme, this grip is the tackiest grip out there it could be better than Yonex Superwrap but it has this bad feature, it does NOT absorb sweat well, if your palm sweats alot this may be a deal breaker. You can overcome this issue by drying your palms with a towel during changeover, and toweling your grip, this helps alot, or you can use saw dust and wipe the grip and your palms, this works better.

But for me, its Yonex Superwrap all the way, I was a huge fan of tourna, but this absorbs sweat well , but doesn't have tackiness, after a while it crumbles off....x-p
*
is ti superwarp or supergrab ? coz i bought a reel of the acclaimed yonex supergrab (which was featured in tennis magazine and winner of best grip dunno wat year already) but yah ppl say it's comparable or better than the wilson pro. and yup me too used the black color (as it was the only black at that time to match my Wilson Kpro tour and APD). anyhow i find that it loses the "grippiness" very fast and it tends to tear fast too. anyhow nowadays dunno where to buy already since i bought it from a forum fella who was selling that grip previosly
