Not all titles are cinavia protected.. You just have to search and avoid the cinavia protected titles if you intent to play non original titles..

thanks for the info.

i'm using the LITEON iHES312 (i think, base on the LITEON website), only tested with a few blu-ray video. no issue on playback the official blu-ray, and i set this blu-ray rom to Region B. but when tested with one cinavia protected ahem blu-ray, it is not 100% can playback, tried to in/out the tray for few times only can get one playback, not sure is it will be the same for other cinavia protected ahem blu-ray.

what s/w that you use for playback, i was purchased the power dvd.

PowerDVD is not cinavia compliant yet.

The problem you mentioned is not cinavia related, but its the player readability, thefre is no garantee BD-R is 100% readable on the player. Standalone player has less playbility issues tho.

LITEON is an OEM product, so no bundled software.

You can get the LG one with bundled software, price almost the same. LITEON BD-R writer is 12x, LG one is 14x, much better actually.

Set to Region A.

Blu-Ray drive is region free for Blu-ray (software lock), but region lock for dvd (only 5 changes allowed, hardware locking via firmware ; MPC2 spec).

Demands for non-cinavia blu-ray was quite high, a friend just sold his last 2x S485 at RM550.

The read only vs the writer only differ around 100+ plus you'll get faster reading speed, i find the 4x readibility a bit problamatic with some poor quality BD-R, or aging BD-R (kept for over 3 years)

IC,

cause this disk can playback on sony player but no sound (as the power of cinavia), but totally cannot playback from my panasonic BD-45, just the start up logo of the movie then just hang.

Panasonic doesn't like BD-R and worse LTH. Don't get the rm10 one most likely an LTH BD, get the expensive one better media quality, normally a BD-R (HTL)

Your Pana should have a problem with normal BD-ROM.

Yes, it should be. But some claims its firmware can be downgraded, but not sure of asian models. do at you own risk.
