hi fellow users, i figure out in s15 bios there is a turbo feature in intel cpu feature tab, wat is tat ?
*
Intel Dynamic Acceleration...

if the app is not multi core optimized, the CPU would shut down 1 core, then overclock the CPU slightly (1 more level on the multiplier... say from x9 to x10)...

that's the predecessor of Intel Turbo Boost in Core i...

Good price but no style cool2.gif

I wonder how is the i7's performance gonna be like since its clockspeed is slower
*
ppl said that same thing when Core 2 Duo first came out... laugh.gif

anyway, for sure it's better, but it's not going to be a lot compared to Core 2 Quad... since Nehalem is still based on the Core micro architecture...

if Pentium D and Core Duo are at the same lvl, Core 2 Duo is 2 lvls higher, while Core 2 Quad is 1 lvl higher, and Core i7 is another lvl higher only...

Hi Ray/experts,

Thanks for the reply!

Anyway, Am i the only one here wanting to use this 64bit?i intend to have this OS for gaming purposes.i believe 64bit can acknowledge the 4gig ram.but i am worried on the compatibility issues on some games like nba2k9.
*
i can safely say there's no problem with HD4000 GPU on Vista x64 and Win7 x64...

even apps also... have used x64 OS for more than a year and ve yet to encounter apps and games compatibility problems...

but hey, now Win7 comes with XP mode... this problem is solved... laugh.gif

erm, dota is just for a benchmark bro, if the machine needs only say... 10 seconds from the moment i press the power button till the moment i can start warcraft III tft.. then it's an absolute-must-buy.

but i plan to play FPS too which are more demanding than dota i guess ^^

BTW, 10 seconds with the condition that i have quite a bit of background programs running automatically when windows start..
*
for FPS graphic card is more important... RTS is the one that needs better CPU instead...

anyway, i think the POST already takes up 4 sec... laugh.gif

probably only SLC SSD can attain such speed...

15 secs to boot and become fully usable? Now that's almost unbelievably fast.
IIRC that is only applicable to the Pro and Ultimate versions.

u forgot Enterprise as well...

but lol, Ultimate and Enterprise are the same stuff anyway.. .laugh.gif

hey dudes, anyone using win7 64bit?
previously i used 32bit win7 it works fine, but due to ram limitation i changed to 64bit win7.
in 64bit the sound driver wont work, though windows can detect sound card but the sound quality is poor, also bluetooth is not working, and overall the computer seem not in perfect condition after i changed to 64bit.
anyone meet the same problem?
*
search for ur own drivers... sometimes Windows Update will help also...

*
MSDNAA??? that should be a Win7 Pro key that u obtained...

either burn the ISO to a DVD, or setup a thumb drive as boot up device and copy the files to it to install Win7...

i7 pawn c2d ...anytime....
bt...if said...gaming performance...it also depends GPU...so i doubt there will b any significant change in performance ...
*
the key pt abt Core i7 is optimization...

Resident Evil 5, i7 will win anytime, due to optimization for HT...

GTA4, C2Q probably will be better, since it's not optimized for HT, in fact HT will even drag the performance...

L4D, a C2D is more than enuf...

Added on October 11, 2009, 2:50 pmanyway, i7 with HD4570... it's totally imbalance...

Isn't corei7 mobile a quad core processor? http://wTww.intel.com/products/processor/c...cifications.htm

How about core i7 mobile with 4650? Is it still imbalance? If that's the case, in order to get proper system configuration, we need to wait for the next generation graphic card to land on mobile platform.
*
yes, i7 is a quaddie, but the problem lies in HT... it's a double edged sword...

the keyword here is optimization... if the software is optimized for HT, u'll have up to 30% performance boost (as Intel claims), but if the application is not optimized, then u'll see performance loss instead...

as far as games are concerned, HT is not a useful, if not totally bad, feature to have... that's the main reason y desktop Core i7 didn't really pick up when it was launched last year...

if u re talking abt balancing, in fact GTX 280M SLI and HD4870 CF are probably piece of cake for it... and to quote Intel again, Core i7 was not designed for gamers...

try the latest driver from Intel or www.laptopvideo2go.com

more often than not, those drivers in the OEM website are not updated frquently...

try running Furmark and monitor the temperature at the same time...

that will push the GPU to the limit...

i think it's gonna be expensive if u want to upgrade...

the mobo is totally different, and i7 itself is not cheap either... and u sacrifice on battery life as well...

problem is the new socket used by Core i7...

C2D and C2Q uses Socket 479, while i7 uses Socket 939...

by that it already means that the whole mobo needs to be changed...

moreover even if the socket did not change, new things like DMI instead of FSB is already not supported by PM45 chipset...

so no matter wat, it's still a very pricey upgrade...
