hmmm i usually fed him vitakraft.....refill when almost empty already....at night if i feel like giving him treats i will give sunflower seeds. & usually depends if i m free/came home early from uni then i will give him whatever fruits/veg that is good for hamster & is available in my fridge.... if dont have any then he dont get any wahahaha.....but usually fresh fruits/veg max also twice a week

oh ya sometimes i give him meal worms too


& about long hair syrian is the same as syrain but just u need to brush their hair often to keep it smooth & in good condition. & also u must make sure their living environment is good, e.g good quality wheel so that the hair wont get stuck at the wheel & also for the tubes (coz sometimes the hair can get stucked in the tubes).

yeah almost all hamster love sunflower seeds....but dont give too much...its very fatty...not healthy then....

nah...no need like that schedule....just refill the bowl when its almost empty....some hamster love to take the food from the bowl & hide at their sleeping place...so u might want to clean his/her sleeping place & put the food back in the bowl

u can fed alive ones or dead ones.....i fed mine dead coz couldnt find alive ones around my area....but it was hard at the first time...he didnt want to eat coz i bought the wrong one...the one for reptiles...inside got oil so that the mealworms stay fresh & wont spoil....but in the end he manage to eat it & now when i open the cover he faster want to take as much as possible.

there is dead ones in packets too, that is specially made for hamsters...i suggest u to get that if u dont want to fed alive ones.....but feeding alive ones is better coz its fresh & healthy

yup must good brand coz it will affect the hamster health & fur....well other brands all also can la...but so many people in this forum is feeding vitakraft coz its one of the best brand so far. i recommend u to fed ur hamster vitakraft. 1 packet is rm20 plus only but can last for 2-3 months depending on how much the hamster eat

serious? i wanted to buy too for my hamster this week...maybe on friday... i dont know where else they sell, coz petshack is the only place i found selling vitakraft...

thats normal...they will bite coz they want to go out or they just feel bored....there is no actual way to stop that....it is good to get a plastic aquarium...coz then the hamster cant bite it & wont get any health issues.

other solution is to put more toys & stuff so that the hamster can explore around. but dont overcrowd it....u can try to blow the hamster when it starts biting the cage...they might stop for a while & continue back


my hamster used to bite the cage too....but nowdays he stop coz he knows that i will bring him out when its time & nothing will happen when he bite the cage (coz he attention seeker). i think its best when the hamster bite the cage u dont do anything...then he/she will know that by biting it wont bring him/her anywhere.

if u want him/her to chew on something i recommend u to get apple wood...they love that....or u can get nibble sticks too....but i find out apple wood is the best for my hamster la

any good vet in subang jaya? i think i need to bring my hamster to a vet....

ya i check it out already...i just want to know if anyone been there or not? there is three vets around subang jaya i acording to google...but i think there is 4...last time i saw another one...just want to know if anyone been there & is the treatment good or not...

do a simple search...if the person is in here should be ok. otherwise ask them questions about keeping hamster when giving the hamster / call them to ask questions....hehehe

oh well if someone wants to adopt 1 hamster i dont think they are planning to fed to snakes...unless its more than 1...then

also depends on the person location...if your location is too far then its more convenient for me to buy a hamster from a pet shop near to my house right? if need to travel so far then i will just end up spending more money on petrol rather than saving in adopting a hamster....

try putting few sunflower seeds around...then if u got a rat trap (that wont injured the hamster) use that...put lots of fresh sunflower seed in there...if you are lucky u will catch her...but once a hamster escaped outside...chances of getting back is very little...

sure can in fact is good to use paper, tissue paper is more better la. but only use those with good paper quality & soft. some paper are quite hard & thick & some people dont just use the puncher/shredder for paper only....

i read before people dont really recommend newpaper coz newpaper got black ink on it & smells quite bad...some hamster like to put the bedding in their pouch & carry it to some location & remove it to make their place comfortable but if he/she put the newspaper in the pouch then some ink might stuck into their pouch & who knows what are the side effects of it...

not sure...u can try to google it out if its ok or not for hamsters...

hahaha tell me about it.....i m not using that cage but my hamster started putting the bedding into his toilet & started sleeping in there... clean it few times already & chase him when he sleeps in there.

now he sleeps in the house...luckly didnt continue to put the bedding in the toilet. i hope 2moro when i wake up he dosent do the same thing like today & yesterday

hahaha....remove wheel = prob solved. but hamster got no wheel . maybe u can remove it for 1 month so that they find another place to sleep & poo. after they selected already & are comfortable with the place then put the wheel back

maybe u guys didnt take it out long enough? try taking out for 1month & later put back & see. surely cannot get very fat in 1 month without exercise right...or will they

true but maybe give some nibble stick/toys to play. coz we need to break the hamster habbit from peeing & poo in the wheel (well up to the owner la...i m just giving an suggestion to help their life )
