Unless you're staying in the U.S. and you're using Verizon, then there is a similar device, named Verizon Mi-Fi.

Other than that, I can't think of any cheaper alternatives here in Malaysia, unfortunately.

why is the serial number at the back of the console different from the box?

at the back of the console, it starts with 02-xxxxxx-xxxxxx-cechxxxx but on the box it is s01-xxxxxx-xxx

is everyone the same?

on the XMB blank...its true said by econ & terion..... For me I can set my reso to 1080i..if its 1080p..it goes blank then ok then blank...and so on....as for the effect by other nearby component..i don't have much..+ I'm using monster cable 800 ultra...& not the gamelink.

Based on my TV technican, Sony is still doing firmware patching to resolved this 1080p setting....

Anyone care to confirm this?...1080p no..1080i can....
