QUOTE(faris21 @ Apr 21 2010, 11:36 AM)
inter first goal look easy, we already have two CB covering in fron goal post, why on earth Alves leave his position and leave Wesley unmarked

i think we have tough work to do, as we know JM really good in tactical and Italian team is defensive expert, they just need to make sure we cant score twice, pressure on us now, i sure Pep can make it
*
Yeah, conceding that soft goal is very disappointing. Nvm, everybody do realize what we are capable of as well. I'm still positive. This weekend we will face Xerez at home. We can start playing youth players in that match. And then we will face Inter next week, right? Plenty of time to let the players refresh themselves.

i dint watched the match but based from the comments above its due to the tiredness of the players, hope fully inter gonna travel to camp nou the same way as we did, by then we have the chance, this game is long from over i tell u..if inter looking to park the bus infront of the goal mouth, they r about to making a huge mistakes..

anyway, the absence of iniesta in big matches like this really made xavi headache isnt it, there arent much player in the field that he can link up perfectly..i dunno about u guys, although messi has been on fire so far, mayb pep can sacrifice him let him play deeper behind to give xavi more extra assists..let bojan play upfront, that lad improved alot, n based on our remaining fixtures, we needs to make used all of our available assets, a big test for the champion.. smile.gif

I assure you Pep did just that, as usual when Iniesta is not around. But things didn't work. Cambiasso was really good and always on top of him. So yeah, its quite obvious that we missed Iniesta badly for this one.

There are 2 reasons Pep did that:

1) Ibra was playing badly;

2) Abidal was brought on because Pep wanted to release Maxwell and Pique to a more advanced role. When Barca went super attacking, Barca played with only 1 CB (Puyol), and Abidal acted as back up CB cum LB. That was actually when Barca hold the ball and became most dangerous. Pique nearly scored our 2nd goal, but Lucio cleared the ball off the line. Pique assisted Pedro for his bicycle kick as well. It nearly paid off.

but Pique is not a striker, playing Bojan or Henry would be a wiser choice.

Well, it almost worked, wasn't it? When Pep realized it was very hard to break down Inter, he might have realized that there was only 1 way to defeat them; by using Alves' crosses into box. Neither Bojan and Henry can challenge for high balls effectively. Hence it is logical to have Pique up there.

Pique isn't a striker? He almost did a copycat of the goal he scored in the 2-6 Clasico. But Lucio cleared it off the line unfortunately.

Added on April 22, 2010, 10:28 amOh, Faris, Sport mentioned Barca delegates arrived at Barcelona yesterday, by plane.

I saw two of inter goals was bcoz of Sneijder wasnt properly marked..

Alves performance also under par that day... And did he dive or was tripped inside pnalty box? i tink he dived... not really sure... but after the game some player questioned ref decision on that..

i read news about liverpool lose to Atletico and many claim its due to their long and tiring journey by train to madrid.... because its not just they lost, they didnt perform well also.... same case with barca i guess...

La Masia is the future of football... thumbup.gif

for me, it would be better to focus on liga first, we just one one point adavantage, even Xerez is easy to beat but we should careful, they can put 11 player in front goal post and steal 1 point from us
