A total of 236 affordable housing units will be built in
Sutera Damansara to help ease the burden of low-income earners while giving them a chance to own a home.
Homeowners will also have access to a host of facilities, including a multi-purpose hall, surau, kindergarten, multi-storey carparks and a management office, among other things.
Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, who officiated at the groundbreaking recently. said the state government was trying to create a balance between high- and low-income earners.
“Affordable housing programmes should not be confined to a specific area only.
“To avoid creating a ‘ghetto’ in an area, we plan not to build too many affordable housing in one area to ensure a balance in the community.
“It is not acceptable to have a separation between luxurious and affordable houses. In Sutera Damansara, there is that balance,” he said.
The 236 affordable housing units to be constructed in Sutera Damansara will feature three-bedroom and two-bathroom layouts and built-up areas of 808 x 830 sq ft.
The price per unit will be RM89,000.
