errmm... this might not be the place to ask but i seriously dunno wer else shud i post this..

ok.. juz wanna know that when they say 'NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics processor with 256MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory'.. does it mean that the graphic card will actually used up 256mb of my ram memory and cause the laptop to be slow?

so if i upgrade the ram of the laptop..does it help? coz 256mb out of 4gb is really not much wat..zzz dunno whether i am correct or wrong.. doh.gif

and is 'NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics processor with 256MB of DDR3 SDRAM' such a bad graphic card?? becoz i am planning to buy a laptop that can runs well with autocad.. i am a engineering student..
*
1) yes... u can adjust the RAM to be shared though

2) no it will not help, since the GPU used (ie 9400M) is the same

3) should be good enough... GPU acceleration on such apps is still pretty limited..

as i said before, HD5470 is merely a HD4570 on steroid...

the steroid comes from 40nm production (thus a slight bump of speed), and GDDR5 (sadly u hardly see that used on a low end card)

thus it's no surprise tat the score is close to HD4570...

graphic wise, should be pretty close to wat HD4670 can offer...

and seriously speaking, go for dual core if u want some serious gaming...

maybe 3dmark only supports dual-cores? so it turbo boosted 2 cores to get it score at 3k? hmm my P8600 only scored 2k..

if dual core only all sure cannot score more than 1000 for overall...

dun forget, a GPU has 8-128 processors for NV and 40-1600 processors for ATi...

there's no best of both worlds... FPS games tend to stress more on GPU, while strategy games tend to stress more on CPU...
