memorable : You could probably drop either the UWA or the 24-70mm and still won't have much impact.

For wedding you could cover most with:

1. FF on 24-70mm or FF UWA
2. APS-C on 70-200mm

2 bodies and 2 lenses and you're set.
*
still need the UWA (11-16mm) and use when absolute necessary, never know when u have a huge family to shoot and little room to backtrack...
been there done that... smile.gif

24-70mm will be the main lens...

is 70200G around the same size as canon 70200???went pass a shop n saw the canon one on the window...god..its huge~~
*
yeah, around same size, i tested it on A200 and view the pictures on a laptop, i find the picture to be sharper + the focusing more accurate & faster than canon 70-200 on EOS50D. I know, coz my buddy is a Canon nut. Use both, this is my personal opinion. Sony lenses are damn good (CZ & G-series), better than the competition. Good trade off for the poor high ISO performance.

guess i'd probably settle with 850(if the spec is correct) + 2470 first...i'd really love 70200G and hope to use it as my portrait lens...but if im starting to cover wedding event..guess 70200 is not as useful as 2470... cry.gif
*
yeah,, FF + 2470 would be the main bread winner for weddings... can go wide and semi close ups, great for potraits as well and can handle medium size family shots as well...

70-200 will give the extra edge for true close up shots... use both these lenses well, and C & N users will be totally envious... smile.gif

Braynumb : Why need so many bodies for? LOL. Invest on better lenses 1st lo.
*
always need 2 bodies for any shoots, especially weddings...
never know when you shutter will break, or accidents waiting to happen (fall, etc)...

anyway, already invested in SAL2470Z, if you can find something better than this, let me know, I am curious to find out... smile.gif

Mo0: you question has been answered... hehehe... besides, got hired for some wedding jobs starting this december... need the extra body rather than changing lenses... on one body can use 1870 and the other using the 75300... saves time...

btw, got a question to ask.... my flash is really acting weird... as it the contacts doesn't even touch each other... and sometimes the camera detects the flash and then suddenly it doesn't... anyone else going through this? and way to fix it??
*
advice, if you are doing for really cheap, you can use your SAL1870, but it really suck big time for weddings... need alot of PP after that... plus, the focusing is quite slow... so, you need to stay real sharp & pre-focus and anticipate what is going to happen...

i have the same problem with my F58 & A350, looks like contact problem, especially when shooting in portrait mode, i have to hold the flash to mantain the contact between them... should complain to Sony, I will too, once i get my A850, this A350 is going to see the doctor... smile.gif

try visiting the sony center shop at one utama. was quoted RM 1700 for SAL 16105... That's the only sony center shop which gives discount..

I asked the sales girl, she says got discount for every alpha equipment. just gotto ask.

Added on August 6, 2009, 12:09 pmbtw, it's new set with the seal still on. didn't get to try it though cos it's sealed up.

Dont get confused between SonyStyle shops & Sony Centres. Sony Centres are the main authorized dealers (example Tan Electronics), they have to put the original retail price, but can give discounts. Sony Style shops (run by Sony Malaysia), dont hope for any shit...

Avoid the following shops... go for testing or demo, but buy elsewhere... smile.gif

SONYSTYLE @ KLCC
322-324, LEVEL 3, RAMLEE MALL, SURIA KLCC, K.L.
Phone : 1300-88-1233

SONYSTYLE @ BERJAYA TIMES SQUARE
01-10A,1ST FLR, BERJAYA TIMES SQUARE, K.L.
Phone : 1300-88-1233
