QUOTE(Crefigz @ Sep 7 2009, 06:26 PM) Serious ? Then I on almost 24/7 surely explode from the heat. dude what i meant was flash itself is the problem,it hears up the machine fast but it might be the only problem that heat up your mac there might be other things like proper heat ventilation for example, and other methods to lower the heat down i think 60-75 celcius is normal,i can still place my mac on my bare thighs,if it was a pc i might get a second degree burn no kidding

QUOTE(Crefigz @ Sep 10 2009, 03:06 PM) been using mbp for a couple of days now, 160gb surely is not enough. arghhhhhh.... and 2gb ram is still a little laggy seeing the thing boink boink boink on the dock and still boink and never comes up. how much you have filled up in the HDD,is it running out of space already? means its starting to lose virtual memory space too.

QUOTE(lemonie @ Sep 13 2009, 11:19 AM) hey. hw long does ur mbp battery last? i was using wifi yesterday (videos , msn , facebook etc) from 80%+ went down to 20% in like 2 hrs +.. so much for 7 hrs battery life. D: wah how long have you been using computers man? you should know by now that wifi is a battery drainer, summore you are running videos too unless your battery is powered by nuclear reaction i dont think it can last long.

QUOTE(MetalZone @ Sep 17 2009, 09:50 PM) Are you using one with the SSD? Contrary to crazyee's comment, modern well designed MLC drives are much faster than mechanical hard drives. The symptoms you mentioned sounds like MLC SSD drives using the JMicron controller which fares badly in average latency and random read/write. However, I highly doubt Apple would put such drives in and they normally stick to the main vendors with samsung controllers. To get an idea of what I'm talking about check this article: http://www.anandtech.com/storage/showdoc.aspx?i=3531&p=1If you are not using the SSD, ignore the above. Have you tried calling apple? Added on September 17, 2009, 9:56 pmMy friend's macbook white got quite a bit discoloured. But then she doesn't care for it very well. If you take care of it well clean it regularly you should be able to keep it in pristine condition. Here's the differences as far as I can remember. The Pro has: -Multi-touch trackpad -Longer battery life -Backlit keyboard -Better display -Aluminium unibody -Firewire 800 (macbook has firewire 400) -DDR3 1066MHz RAM (macbook has DDR2 800MHz i think) -SD Card reader but combined the Headphone out and Mic/Line In into one port (can switch between either or use a 4 pin jack to use both). i might add its more sturdy, lighter and slimmer.

QUOTE(hildagarde @ Oct 3 2009, 01:12 AM) 120gb for me is more than enough as i don't store much things. Can the ram be added? nope, its already soldered to the motherboard/logicboard, plus i believe the MBA you are getting is the version with 667MHz of ram,i doubt you can handle multiple layers in PS alone let alone run both apps at the same time.

my first purchase on my mb is at the shop @ ikano, since during that time i still remember whole msia out of stock during cny hahaha honestly no1 could answer this as it depends solely on you,its your money plus also how eager you wanna get it. Shops wise there is the online store and makor resellers like epic, machines, maccity, macstudio and switch.

QUOTE(siaukia @ Oct 5 2009, 09:47 AM) well, i never fancy the design since i have always preferred the older titanium-ish look. but well looking at this, i can hold off until early of nov to see if there is any refresh on the mbp line. But of course, there's been a heavy speculation on refresh for mb, new look?
that is not an indicator for MBP,plus the new MBPs were just released last july? thats about 3 month++,it wont be that soon. Just be patientlah if you feel like waiting, with computer equipments changing on a frequent basis, what you have now would be considered outdated come nect month. Plus isnt dell changing specs every other week? how come no one complain about that? Its good enough that apple's product cycle for portables is roughly about 5-6months.

QUOTE(defectivelasagna @ Oct 27 2009, 03:51 PM) hey guys i'm just wondering if the new 13" macbook white can swap the hdd or not? because my friend said at 5400 rpm is realllly bad. now its either your friend is trying to act smart or trying to con you because you are gullible. a 7200 RPM drive will cause alot of vibration, and its plastic for christ's sake you want the rigidity to go off in x number of months?

QUOTE(sumtuckieeeee @ Dec 7 2009, 04:11 AM) Hi, someone broke into my house yesterday and my laptop was gone. I was using a Benq S41 recently, so I've decided to change to apple since I've never used an apple computer before. I'm deciding whether to either get the new Macbook White or the 13" Macbook pro. Is there any difference between 2 of these? Or should I just wait for the next update for Macbook/Macbook Pro. Any can anyone tell me when is the next upgrade? I mean not the exact date, but roughly when will the update be. Thanks apple.com this is the best site to compare and contrast the macbook pro and the macbook white. Nobody in this forum honestly know when the updates will be out, if we knew there wouldnt be a lot of people complaining about " owh @#$% apple, they release a new mbp or macbook again", even if the macbook or MBP they own is a few months or years old, if you are not the type whom minds the latest and greatest, just purchase whatever that suits you best, no point to keep waiting and waiting, because theres always be something better, thats how technology is, just my 2 cents.
