Graphics Card: ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD4570 with 512MB DDR2 VRAM 680Mhz core 500MHz memory with onboard HD 3200 via PowerXpress
hi there, im kinda confused about this graphic card...erm what i mean is compare to dell studio 15 gc what the differences ? =.= same huh ?
the Dell studio 15 is using hd4570 with gddr3 ram, thus shud be faster, but according to TS, the bottleneck would be at the 64bit memory bandwidth rather then the vram, so prolly not much different in the end . If you don't have
AMD phobia, i would whole-heartly recommend this model to you.

Yeah, AMD phobia is in 2001 or 2002 during Thunderbird era, I don't know why anyone still thinks that way, they forgot the Prescott altogether, it even worse
To tell you the truth my cousin have BenQ S41 with that 8600M GS, been using it for a year now, still fine, I give him advice to use it properly, and good thing his laptop still runs fine

But even though that laptop have 128-bit memory vs HD 4570 64-bit coupled with very slow 500MHz DDR2 memory, I surprised that HD 4570 is faster than that, the 8600M can barely run CnC: KW at 800x600 low detail, I just stunned that HD 4570 can run it on high, at native resolution!
Haha, yeah, the intel P4
Pres-Hottttt is much worse, actually the whole NetBurst Microarchitecture Suck badly.... After Intel feel the threat from AMD only they start doing something serious, hence the Core Microarchitecture. This prove that where there is competition, there is improvement.
Just hope AMD could survive, else shit would happen, no more cheap proc.
Regarding the 8600M, I read that Nvidia pay several pc-maker and make them release bios that limit the GPU ability and enabling full-running fans to cover their ass. Googling around and you would find lotsa similiar news. I think that's why your cousin's chip haven phailed, this also explain that the 4570 beating it in gaming performance.
