Turion and Athlon have almost the same performance. Keep in mind only the Turion ultra ZM series have larger L2 cache, the normal turion have only 1mb L2cache just like their Athlon brother.

Ummm ok, maybe i shud be more specific    sweat.gif

Athlon QL =  512kbx2 L2cache = 1mb total
Turion RM =  '''''''''''''''''''same''''''''''''''''''''

Turion Ultra ZM = 1mbx2 l2cache = 2mb total
Now I hope there would be no more people asking about why only athlon and no turion......... doh.gif

Get over these 667 or 800 stuff. It don't matter a bit for average user.

Prototype is more CPU-intensive than GPU intensive because of the large number of AI and the huge open world. My GPU barely has to work to run the game on high, but my CPU bottlenecks the game.
*
You sure about this? I found out that I have no problem at all running Prototype at max with my Old and Outdated Athlon at stock clock. For Crysis and GTA4 tho it's another story, I usually oced it to at least 2.8ghz for better enjoyment.
I don't see how your C2D cpu can bottleneck the game when I'm running mine fine at lower clock and slower IPC of amd proc too rclxub.gif

Hmm, well it was a conclusion I came up with on my own. Because I saw no difference in FPS when I switched from 0x AA to 4x AA. Likewise for shadow and the other quality settings. And my GPU, which runs to 90+ celsius for Crysis, is ambling along at 70, like it's barely even working. I too thought that my GPU may be underclocking or something, but I've monitored everything with RivaTuner and it's not that. And no difference between GPU at stock clocks or overclocked either. So that's why I thought it was the CPU.

Easy, try underclock your c2d and see if the fps take a hit. I'm guessing that tis game is no challenge to your spec at all, hence you don't see any FPS drop at whatever setting.

You cant compare Asus with Acer.............at all

Hint: There's a reason Asus dare to provide 2 years warranty instead of the standard 1 years, you know? tongue.gif

For gaming, look at the gpu.

Hints: There is a reason this thread is about k40ab instead of that k40ij or lj or jj or whatever, ya knows?
