I am new to this and would like to seek your advice on this, I am planning to get either LCD/LED about 55 inch (yet to decide waiting for LED price to drop further), JVC bluray player and I am thinking to get a good amp for the sound systems, I watched lots of bluray and play ps3 too. my budget for the sound system hopefully don't over RM3K (inclusive amp + speaker)


1. Should I go for 308? what is the best price I can get?
2. What speaker I should use to pair with e 308?

Just got my TX-SR608.
Currently I have a Powered Subwoofer AMC B1-30 which has 2 Line In ports L&R.
Should I connect both Preouts from the 608 to the AMC L&R inputs?
If only 1 preout is required, which input on the AMC should be connected L or R?

Use Sub1 pre-out from the avr to connect to the either input of the sub. To yield the 6dB gain, you need a Y splitter to connect to the stereo input of the sub.

I'm beginner in HT system. Looking at 608, as it having great review. May I know where I can get it with best price? (KL area) Any suggestion for the speaker set? (around 1.5k, 5.1 include sub woofer) And, do 608 having any issue with HTPC's HDMI so far? Thanks for advice!

Better opt for 508.. Im just bought one for RM1650.. 508 has WRAT technology, Audyssey, Bi-amp output...Higher watts @ 160W (308 @ 120W), etc..

What are the major different between 508 and 608? If 508 cost only RM1650 (info fr accs_centre) then it will be around 1k different to 608, issit? what will make me justify for choosing 608 then?

I hv quite limited budget for it.. So i par it with JAMO S606 HCS 5 (complete 5.1ch).. I got it from DESA HT.. Maybe other place can get sightly cheaper if by cash..I didnt make a price survey..

Onkyo hts3300 htib 5.1 speakers can place all in front? and still get the same surround result? i don't want to do wiring from front to back.

These JAMO set really hv high end feel..
Looked much better n also bigger, taller than my AE Aegis Evo 3

How much did you pay for your 808?

I got mine through local authorized reseller with local warranty so cannot compare to prices if getting it from S'pore/Labuan/Brunei
the price you quoted a few pages behind is way lower than my price, grab it b4 it's gone

i use onkyo 608 with Radeon 5 series no prob / handshake issue so far, smoothly bitstream true hd / hd master audio...

better AQ compared to the Aegis?
