Lol..
Cant do anything la..But well we will see..
Anyway..i dont think Thuban going to be cheap sleep.gif
..But AMD's Magny Cours look interesting..
And...you guys know that C3 revision going to be released?(AMD New Stepping, current is C2).

Now we have to wait Bulldozer.
*
Bulldozer still a long way to go, it will only be released by Q2 2011 i believe.. hmm.gif
Hope between there n then AMD would do some slight tweaking with the current cores maybe reduced the cache latency or sumthing.. sweat.gif

AMD Magny Cours CPU-Z Validation
Here's the first CPU-Z validation of AMD's 12-core Magny Cours processor. Whatever details the existing version of CPU-Z does read, perfectly matches the specifications of the processor sketched out so far. Firstly, it's based on AMD's upcoming socket G3 package that marks Opteron's transition to high-level integration within a single package. With 1,974 pins, socket G3 is able to provide as many as six 16-bit HyperTransport 3.1 links, and four DDR3 memory channels. The package is one of AMD's first multi-chip modules, that houses two six-core dies (dubbed "nodes"), onto one package, and connects the two using a HyperTransport link.

Each node has 6 x 512 KB of L2 cache and 6 MB L3 cache shared between the six cores. Out of 6 MB, 1 MB of the cache is reserved for low-level system operations, namely the HT Assist (probe filter) that aims to lower memory subsystem latencies, reduces queuing delays due to lower HyperTransport traffic overhead, and minimizes probe traffic to increase system bandwidth. The CPU-Z reading of 10 MB total chip L3 cache is spot-on. Also seen on the validation page are details on the reference motherboard, called "AMD Dinar", that uses SR5690 (same chip as 890FX) + SB750 chipset.

Sauce

Just as AMDathlon pointed out eventho the cpu has 6MB+6MB L3 cache some of it is set aside for HT Assist to reduce lower memory subsytem latencies drool.gif

Not sure bout the last pic, looks authentic but we never know ah.. But if it's true just look at the cpuvolt, 1.1v at 3ghz for a 12 cores cpu is really something shocking.gif shocking.gif

So if I can't boot to windows, 4th core is totally defective??
*
If u done all the steps:

1. Set to Hybrid mode
2. ACC set to all cores
3. Value -2%

Then most probably u have an locked batch.. Have u research 1st on the bios version that most users have been able to unlock using the same mobo?? hmm.gif

I've seen some mobo user reviews and they r able to unlocked. I have 0906 EPMW cpu.. not sure if its locked batch...

EDIT : Found this

"It was found that 720BE's with serial 'MW' are favourites esp. 0904 EPMW, 0906 EPMW, 0904 DPMW, 0904 FPMW, 0905 FPMW, 0906 FPMW, 0904 EPMW & 0904 DPCW series has acquired highest success rates if paired with right motherboard combo."
*
U may get higher chance of unlocking but it can never be a 100% surefire guarantee.. Some lemons still exist in those batches too sweat.gif
It's all depends on ur plain luck ah..
