But does not mean that the player have HDMI 1.3 will guarantee TrueHD. Until now ACRyan & Xtreamer still cannot bitstream, other realtek based from China also same issue.
*
they say is something the firmware can settle in the future (so cross fingers).. like the DTS downmix issue sooner or later can settle.. but if you got 1.1 then no need to dream liao.. biggrin.gif start shopping for another player..

wdtv gen-2 can decode dts, comes with ethernet port but not wireless tho'. probably much cheaper than dvico.

by dvico 6500/7000 standards, every other media player without an optical drive (like dune) seems to be cheaper.. biggrin.gif

So far I've only came across Perhaps Love HD MKV, that is with 96/24 DTS.
Clarity is clearly better than regular DTS on the same crappy AVR system I have.
Not sure why so difficult to find a 96/24 sources when so manyare in DTS/MA
*
normally they make TS file.. H264 with LPCM (from the BD audio track).. biggrin.gif

Talking abt 3.5inch HDD, it is always hot...its design to work in that temperature.

But most of the time, for media players, most ppl use WD Green HDD. The temperature is much lower and power savings.
Although the speed is slower than Blue or Black WD version...it is fast enough for media player usage.
*
better get the samsung 1.5TB instead.. much cooler than the WDgreen and performs much faster.. can write at 80-110MB/s

bro..I check the specs of the samsung 1.5tb only 5400rpm...how to achieve your speed.

I'm using a server class 1tb can only achieve abt 5~7MB/Sec using the Vantec Docker through USB.
My WD hdd also same abt that speed...are my settings wrong?...help...
*
use sata la.. USB is a real time suck..

yesterday, I use two WD green WD10EADS via sata dump data into 1.5 sammy 5400 ...

on teracopy 2 , both showing 50MB/s transfer rate..

anyway sammy is 5400rpm but the platter density is higher than the normal 1TB.. so it's possible that each Rotation reads/write more data than older faster drives..

my laptop cannot do direct sata connection...fastest is the 1394 ports..never mind...I'll live with the slow speed  cry.gif

I'll checkout the sammy..thanks for the recommendation

You are using Teracopy 2.06 beta or 2.01? I also wanna try it
*
1394 quite fast, but pay $$ for the enclousure with this output.. hehe!...

teracopy, revert back to 2.01.. some weird issues 2.06 on my comp..

for assess time, better get SAS 15k drive (look in garage sale) or intel SSD would be better.. biggrin.gif

Those stuff costs like a bomb. I actually bought 4 units of 300GB Raptors for USD79 each. Not bad huh? Too bad I have no time to use it yet, if not RAID-0 kau them to test.
*
that;s cheap.. biggrin.gif

actually depends on what you want to do with the drive, if want to boot windows or game, ok you need fast spin up, I/O drives to do those.. but if want to store movies..then transfer speed and large capacity would be more of a priority..
