last time i was thinking ask my cousin who temporary working at UK to bring back a unit for me... it's more expensive compare to US but it's still cheaper a lot compare to malaysia..lolz... too bad he cant make it...

You can still use vpost to ship from Amazon back to Malaysia for around RM4K+

This is my first projector review, I don't have any home theater projector experience before, so I can say I'm just a noob here

My setup is

HTPC - ATI RADEON 5750 GC HDMI output to HD20
Media Player : PowerDVD 8.0 playing BDISO
Projector Screen : eh....my wall is my screen the wall is a little bit yellowish... so don't expect the picture quality is good


I'm actually waiting my new house to be moved in, will build a dedicated home theater room soon, so with the very poor environment setup, the Optoma HD20 still pretty impressed me !

1. Excellent resolution, very clear picture, I won't said the picture quality is top notch, but it is pretty good even projected on the yellowish wall, once it is going through fine tuning and color calibration, it should be even better.

2. Image is kinda like 3D pop up, the black level is still not so good, watching some documentary movie, certain dark scene was not actually black, it show dark grey color.

3. The projector is pretty hot, I have to turn on my aircon, but it is pretty quiet if you don't turn on the bright mode. I hardly hear the fan sound, my aircon even louder than it.

Below spoiler is the screen capture, my Canon Ixus 55 couldn't do fast shuttle in the dark scene, so images are kinda blur.

I got it from ebay, if they don't ship it to Malaysia, you can use vpost Malaysia to get it from U.S

Which ebay seller did you get it from? I assume he ships to Malaysia since you got yours in 4 days. Was shipping expensive?
