I think they purposely employed the help of the creators of Settlers in this game, to animate those inhabitants and other stuff properly biggrin.gif

hey phoenixxx, what chapters are u in now? i got stuck in chapter 5. where u have to build at least 2 small warship to defend Ibn al Hakim from Marie d'Artois. the problem is i already built it, but Marie doesn't come attacking. I'm sure i already placed the ships at the right harbour (as if i start retreating my ships, Ibn al Hakim will start whining saying please don't)...

quite few people also having this problem as i search other communities forums... sad.gif

This the first time I played this game after reading a number of reviews/videos here and Gamespot.

I find it interesting, and the graphic is very nice too look at, and the angle is just nice for top view game.

It feels like a bit mixture of Sid Meier's Pirate + Stronghold/Stronghold Crusader.

Naval battle it's a bit shallow as there's no option how many cannons you can get and why type of ammo to do what.

The part where you can have "unlimited" resource to mine or cultivate, ala Stronghold. Then you could actually see them go to farm/buidling to take and unload it.

I've played up to level 3 of the campaign, now play the freeform game.

Is this game quite similar to Sim City?
Looking for a Sim City replacement. or is there any suggestions other than Anno 1404?

You got your money by tax from the citizens of your city. More people in your city=more tax income.
You must fulfill their needs and make them happy in order to maintain the positive cash flow.
Also remember that each ship, farm, church, factory and etc will cost money to operate. nod.gif

it's not exactly replacement of SimCity, but some of the in-game mechanics do resembles SimCity.

- road to connect houses. upgrade to stone type for faster movement
- houses upgrade by itself, depends on food or facilities available. citizen move from peasant => citizen => nobleman
- money earn thru tax or trade(like u produce stone, got excess, so sell it) with other continent thru shipping.

more houses, resident. or you sell your materials.

there's no need to create so much if your ppl don't consume it much, else it will make the store and production house full.

one tip is, if the material consumption doesn't decline, no use opening another farm or mine.

however I don't know if we can increase the tax rate for the ppl. hehe.

^ yea im still searching if there is a possibility for increasing the tax rate but i think there is none

this game sure take a whole lot of my time.
i dislike the girl character(wtfishername) always like to go to war/crusade.

i usually produce large quantities of high price goods such as carpets and books to make an income. it's a lot easier to build a fleet to counter that biatch if got money.

Click a house for one population class (peasant, citizen, noble etc.), you can move the sliders right or left.

Dark Green: people will pay the less taxes but will move inside the house to fill it it and upgrade their buildings to the next class if allowed to
Light Green: pay a bit more taxe, will fill the house in, won't upgrade houses to next level
Orange: more tax, won't move in, won't move out, won't upgrade house
Red: more tax, will with time move out of the house and/or rebel.

Taxes is actually the purpose to having population in the first place smile.gif

Basically put it in Light Green to make sure the houses get filled up, once they are filled up and you do not want to upgrade to next houses (or can't) then put it in Orange, more money, no drawbacks
Once you want to upgrade your houses, put it back to Dark Green.

You can specify this for each population class

i believe it's Marie d'Artois and yes, she's one goddamn b*tch. always hated her during the campaign. wanna-be-tough poser chick... shakehead.gif

and for newbies, remember DARK GREEN SECTOR=PEOPLE ADVANCE. other than that, they will stuck for hours. don't make same mistake that i did... laugh.gif
