Usage time is how long you use your iphone & standby time is how long your phone is in standby. Did you turn off your 3G & Cellular Network every night?

Just try to restore your iphone to factory settings through itunes. Hopefully that will work.

There might be the problem of certain apps. Some apps will run in background even you manually close it at multitasking bar. A hard reset may solve the problem.

Hard reset: Press-hold the Home button (big circle below the screen) and the Sleep/Wake button (on top of the iPhone) simultaneously; Continue holding both buttons (Ignore the "Slide to power off") until the iPhone shuts off and begins to restart; You may let go when you see the silver Apple logo.

hi guys, i just purchased a new iphone4 and it comes with 60% charged battery. wanna ask for the first time charging it how long should i leave it to fully optimized my battery life?

my friend told me to on the phone, charge it up with wall socket, then off the phone. leave it for 8 hours. on the iphone then leave it for 20 minutes before stop the charging. is this the correct way?

thanks in advance =)

I also have the same problem. My iPhone 3gs used to be quite good from charging once every 2 days to once a day and now i have to charge every 12 hours or less, if i surf the net.

Usage wise has been around the same since i first bought the phone, except that i have more apps now. Big drop in the battery life since last Sunday. Went for some drinks last nite and battery dropped from 36% to 5% in less than an hour, and that is after i turned off all alerts, location services and quit all background app.

My frind told me that if i jailbreak, the problem will be even worse. Anyone can confirm this?

Maybe i should go back to DIGI to check as my warranty expires next month!

last time i also havin' this problem when i get the ios 4.2 updated. i think some guy here already explained the battery draining issue about ios 4.2 onwards...

please refer to this same old news New Iphone OS

my only solution to this battery draining issue is just enable Cellular Data 24/7 since the upgrade of ios 4.2.

& now i'm on 4.3 with Cellular Data ON too. no more battery drain...

u can try to enable ur cellular data once fully charged & c how its goes for few days....

If you don't have app running in the background then the battery wont drain alot. But that seems pretty normal for me. I'm on iOS 4.3.2 and everynight I leave all on(3G and WIFI) and one or two apps running in the background and it drop about 6-8%.
