n another reason, hedgie suffer of mite n keep on scratching will cause the quil drop... it is normal the quil will fall, jus like our har sumtime oso will fall...

I wan to ask something.
Roughly how Many time do I need to feed d hedgehog in one day .
And 1 month how many kg does it eat.
And can Muslim keep d pet.
Bcauz hedge hog. Hog means pig .
I afraid it's is a pig evolution?

do research man, my fren is muslim but he keeps dogs..so i think keeping pet doesnt have something to do with religion...it's about culture...if u r going to middle eastern, muslim ppl keeping pet including dogs as well

Feeding portion and times depend on the hedgehog and owner. Different people would hav different ways.

I'm feeding once a day only. And some others feeding twice a day.

I don think hedgehog food can cost u a lot monthly.. U can estimate around 70-100 everymonth?

Because i'm mixing 2-3 types of kibbles for my hedgehog, so definitely cost higher bit. Then if u use better bedding such as Back2Nature then costly bit lo..

First time cost would be higher because u hv to get a big cage or toyogo box, big wheel, litter tray, bottles, food bowl, supplements and etc..

O_o still have suppliment?
i have cage d i only need hedgie and food.
can i just give bake bean as supliment or can i just giv hedgie food and don giv suppliment?

What is bake bean?

If ur family doesnt agree, then pls don get the hedgehog.

You are still staying with ur family, therefore respect the others if they don like to hav it within the house.

And, the worst thing can happen is ur father discover and u hav to give up the hedgie for adoption or sell it away.

Btw, what cage u hav there? Pls don tell me u don plan to get a wheel for the hedgie too..

prepare 400 as starting...for thr hoglet it self, "proper" cage, "proper" wheel, "proper" food as they eat royal canine- dun simply buy cheap supermarket food, proper hide box....u are nt allowed to use cage for dogs or cats, coz it may cause the hedgie's leg gets stuck inside and it will cause injured to hedgie...if u dun have 400 in cash nw, forget about it...and i agree on eric...how if ur parent finds out that u keep hedgie secretly...dun buy on impulse..do research..they need daily bond, proper diet, supplement and proper care+handle...do u know that their nails need to be clipped occassionally..think 1000 times...it's soul u deal about

nope..no bake bean....hamster wheel at all is not for hedgie...the cage has to be big enough...2 feet X 1 feet at least...hamster wheel for sure is not for hedgie as well...did u ever know how big hedgie can grow??? dun compare the size with hamster

I have cash in my hand around 500 plus.
i'm using hamster cage no gap 1.

hamster cage is too small...2 feetX1 feet, that is minimum

Erm if can use hamster cage need to use toyogo box la.
Haiz I already book wan buy hedgie need to cancel haiZ.
or can I use the cage for temporary .
bcauz hoglet not so big.

but u said u have 500 in hand...so why not u buy the largest toyogo box??

After reading all the post, my advice would be cancel the order.

Next, what u can do?

1) Read more bout hedgie first...prepare ur mentality to keep a hedgie.

2) Communicate with ur parents, seek permission from them

3a) If they don allow, then wait for a year until u finish ur spm

3b) if they allow, thank god and start getting the MOST BASIC thing for ur hedgie.

4) Enjoy ur time with ur hedgie, either next month, or next year after ur spm.

As soekma said, basic cage is 2ft x 1ft... Pls remember, this is the smallest cage u would need... Don becoz of ur personal issue, then u get a smaller one for ur hedgie.

U should resolve ur problem with ur dad first, then only proceed to purchase the pets..

I cant imagine how the hedgie going to be if u grab it now.. hide in a small cage everyday... shower secretly... cant go out of the room...

Pity right?

If you have so many issues now and will be facing MORE in the future, why bother getting a pet in the first place? If you cant take care of yourself, how sure are you that you can care for another living thing? Getting a pet requires life long (the pet's life) dedication and since you've planned to do so much in the future, will you have time for your hedgie? Do you plan to ask your family to take care of YOUR pet?

From what you've posted, they clearly showed that you are not ready to be a hedgie owner.

I'm sorry if i've offended you in any way, but please take some time to think.


On a second thought, I really wonder why your dad does not let you keep that pet. Is it solely because of your religion? Or simply because he too, thinks that you are not ready to care for another living thing?

You r jus too eager to get the hedgie impulsively now. And this is the worst thing when comes into pets keeping.

I don think there is anyone here will give u idea to convince ur dad. But we will try hard to convince u to think twice b4 taking any action.

Tank is not really suitable for hedgehog btw. Too hot for them.

I dono what is that food, and got no brand, no ingredients..what i saw is jus brown pellets.. u nid to check the nutritional analysis b4 deciding which brand to feed... Some suitable for hedgie, some don..

Since u r afraid this afraid that, why don you jus hold and think twice first?
