white things? is it dandruff? Hedgie can get dried skin very easily..
Use a better shampoo, some ppl they use those human shampoo and shower their hedgie too often and these usually lead to dried skin. Observe for few more days and see... It could be mites infection also. |

QUOTE(muhd_ejal @ Sep 2 2009, 01:21 AM) i hav a question here, let say i want to get a oatmeal bath shampoo, whre can i get it? I bought mine from petshack. u can see it on their website, inside Hedgie category.or u guys use an oatmeal + water only? 1 more my hedgie cannot stay still on my hand, he is so aggressive always run away from me.. how should i hold him in my hand? is there any tricks? Is not oatmeal + water... is a animal shampoo brand name EARTHBATH... Hold him in ur hand? It could be the hedgie jus not really familiar with u yet. Bonding with hedgie may takes longer time, because they don really like ppl to irritates them since they are solitary. So, u cant keep kacau and play with them esp when they sleeping..it may stress them out. |

whiskas is not a good brand, the kibbles quality is kinda low.
You believe a pet shop who keeps a few hedgie in a small tank? And look at other pets in the shop, almost 95% of the animals have been mistreated. |

Last sat, i talked to Dr Jenny regarding the increasing cases of hedgie having crystal and died lately. She said probably the crystal comes from the cat kibbles. And, she advise those who only feed cat kibbles better mix feeding with the 8in1 Ultra Blended since this is the only hedgie kibbles we can found in the market.
Another issue is the phosphorus consumption. A lot ppl feeding too much mealies and cat kibble itself does not provide high calc.. Therefore, if you r not giving any cal supplement or coated the mealies with cal powder, your hedgie is on high phos diet for long period... |

I read quite a lot review regards the 8in1 ultra blended food when it's first introduced in the market.
I would not say it's the best hedgie diet but at least it's slightly better than you feeding cat kibbles only. Hedgie diet kibbles is not as hard as cat kibbles. And look at the nutritional analysis, generally it suits for hedgehog. This is the only hedgie diet we can found here. Mixing it with a good quality cat kibbles did provide a more balanced diet. I do hope there will be more types of hedgie kibbles available here, so we can hav more choices. |

In singapore, you r not allow to keep most of the exotics including hedgehog. So you cant apply any license for that because there is no such thing i think...
In Malaysia, we don hav to apply for the time being. Unless you plan to ship it to eash malaysia or overseas. Then you might need the supporting documents for jabatan perhilitan... |

Don use pine bedding, don use scented bedding..
I don really like to use wood shaving for male hedgie, it may cause infection of the private part. Better stick with recycled paper type bedding. |
