Different with both...
Hedgehog are very isolated animal, they don like to be disturbed often. Hamster you can ply with them as long as you give them treats.. Compare to SG, hedgehog has much lower maintenence. |

They will dig and hide underneath. So you hav to stick the fleece on the bottom of your cage.
Btw, i don really encourage people use newspaper as bedding. It's very dirty, low absorbant power, inhygiene and the ink not good for their health too. Fyi, pine wood are toxic for most of the small animals. Fleece are avaiable at most of the supermarket/shopping mall.. blanket department. |

Pls think carefully. I would spend another 50-60 to get wobust instead of getting comfort wheel for 110...

QUOTE(kazeko @ Oct 12 2009, 04:49 PM) Hmmm can i know... It really depends on which type of cage you wan..Where u guys buy your cage for hedgehog?? How much is the cage?? Is it at Ikano can get all the hedgehog stuffs? Thats farrrrrr.... If you wan a nice looking cage, you might go for zoozone series... If you wan a more economic way, then you can get a big toyogo box.. Where is ur location? Go pets store section, you can get the starter kit package from jtl. I think they provide different kits for hedgeghog. All the things you needed are included.. |

Albino is white color with red eye.
Yes they both named differently because of the color. It's truth albino hedghog will hav poorer eyesight due to the inherited defect of being albinism. But in fact, hedgehog itself actually has kinda poor eyesight. So hav to put more attention on this.. They will jus climb climb climb like blind ppl then fall down.. |

QUOTE(livingmonolith @ Oct 20 2009, 06:48 PM) besides that, albino hedgehogs are much more sensitive to light, you'll see albino hoglets always rushing to hide in their hideboxes, mine even flipped the food bowl over and hide underneath it. over time they'll be a little better and will come out and for the sunshine ( Eh, i heard my fren says albino's quills are sharper than normal hedgie. Is that truth? Never keep albino b4..so don really know..haha.. |

QUOTE(kaoru himura @ Oct 25 2009, 03:23 PM) my Kenshin dont eat much lately...is there any reason to this? he's active during playtime, he doesn't loose weight or look thin...is he stress or something?he seems normal now but i'm worried if this goes on and will effect his health... How long does this happen?i saw pictures i8n this thread tht ppl gave canned cat food to their hedgie...is that ok? if its ok i would like to try giving it to kenshin, maybe that way he'll gain more appetite. any brand/ flavor recommendations? Overseas almost all hedgie owner serve their hedgie a mix of kibbles, canned food, cereal and etc. Make sure u select high quality one.. Do u use LC-Vit supplement on kenshin? |
