Damn, today I must change the bedding... super duper dirty! Hav to be triple extra careful not to stress the mother hedgie... Plan to scope 1/3 of the wood shaving bedding by using paper. All 5 baby hoglets are all doing fine!

snp,
its not a small box...the box is 4 to 5 times bigger than his hide( ice cream box)
i oso dono how that happenned...i was scared lol...cuz he drop from so high...box height + table height...lulz...
*
hmm.gif Hedgie r good climber but I think they r not good at "sense height". I did try n experiment, I put one of my hedgie on stairway, at 1st he never dare to come to the second step. After half an hour, he try to come down to second step... or probably using "fell off" would be more suitable. Then once he know that he can do it, he just keep on coming down on stairway with extremely fast speed! Of course I catch him quickly or else he might broke his limb.

@niclav I think you could look for playpen... see if there is any playpen in the market suitable for hedgie. By that u can create partition using playpen then easier for u to clean the mess.

Haha, last two days I thought both S&P will be pinto coz I saw some part of the body was pink color without black pigment.

Actually I hope to get platinum where hedgie is albino but eyes and nose are black color. That's really cool!

Here is something to share http://www.peerlesspintohedgehogs.co.uk/news.aspx

Seems like baby will still in danger of being rejected or killed by the mother although already 6 weeks....

For the moment I'm not trying to breed massively and it's really stress to check everyday after my work to see whether the babies are ok.

The 1 time I breed, 3 albino babies die with 1 week and the mother die few weeks later... It's really stress to see the babies gone one by one... That experience really makes me wanna quit...

I no sifu lah! We all here to learn n share also mah. May I know what type of bedding u r using? Bath... I mean soak him in warm water, of course not until the head also submerge lah. Then brush his back with soft toothbrush and shampoo. Apply shampoo on ur palm n gently scoop up n rub his tummy. I can tell u when I got my female S&P, she is horribly flaky but now I can assure you that she is free from mite. Most importantly what type of bedding u r using?

Disinfect the container also. I think u can wash with Dettol n let the container dry under the sunlight

1. I'm not sure about it but as mine 1 n half month gao dim DONE. If really can't solve then probably need to take to vet...

2. Yah! Some may prefer to bath but some dun. Hold him with both of ur hand with his face facing u like the picture I post previously. Then slowly u immerse him in the water but make sure the water not get into his ears. He will open up his "CURL". BE PATIENT !

3. I'm not really sure about this but can try to google...

Ur newspaper is shredded one or one whole piece? Better use plastic container coz at least u can wash n disinfect. For A4 paper container u need to change frequently

1. Yah once a week will do. Sorry what is com bac?
2. Newspaper shouldn't be a problem mah... wonder where is the source hmm.gif U can get a 2 feet plastic aquarium cost around RM30-RM40. I dun prefer those cheap non-transparent plastic container where u can get at most supermarket coz I can't see wat my hedgie is doing in the container.

I feed my Papoy with RC34, but he doesn't like it... only eat few kibbles then left it until I change the new one. Or only eat it when he's hungry. I don't like to see his eating pattern like that, bcoz he used to eat like pig before.

@ddr3, you already intro RC34 to your boy before? .I got one package haven't open yet. Thought wanna give my boy that 8in1 kibble, since he doesn't like RC34. Mind to swap?
*
Impossible leh! A lot of owner feeding with RC34... I'm not sure if RC34 has different flavour like fish and chicken. All my hedgie including 1st batch hoglet love chicken flavour.

Added on May 19, 2011, 2:37 amthe playpen is about 1 ft ++ of height and adjustable accordingly. as for me, i live in the smallest room in the normal apartment, so i put the playpen at the head-side of my bed, so that i could watch him running after the light off. luckily the size is ngam-ngam to that area (you see the small gap between my huge closet & bed  rclxub.gif ) and just a foot away of the playpen is my desktop  sweat.gif that's why I can freely let him roaming the room before I get the playpen for him, because my room is very small  icon_rolleyes.gif .

well, I gotta put him in the playpen because my boyf stores his photography equipments below the bed. he's not chewing on it anyway, but afraid that he might get hurt for bumping into sharp edge of the lightstands & the tripods.

oh ya, after i went back after movie, i saw dots of bloody trails on the newspaper. i was freaked out because i tot something might got him. luckily he was in the playpen. then i realised that his back foot pad was swollen, but he's looking fine & still running  blink.gif . i just gave a quick foot bath to clean the wound & wrapped him up to dry him. luckily he calmed down on my lap before i put him back into his cage. i should've put layers of newspapers or fleece so that it'll be comfy for him to run. He's running like there's no tomorrow. sometimes can last about 15mins  rclxub.gif
*
No wonder ur bf can shot ur avatar in such professional way. rclxms.gif . I stay alone so I just let my male albino hedgie running around one of my empty room. U would hav see how active they are if u able to give them spacious enuf space for them to run. I usually bring them to field once a week and those kids always mistaken my albino hedgie as guinea pig doh.gif
