yup, it's your mobo..maybe the fan problem..it happen to me once when i use acer lappy..have to change the mobo which cost around rm700 but dun wanna repair it yet get a new lappy that is a42jr and satisfied with the lappy performance..

Let say I bought an ASUS notebook from the US, does the warranty still applicable here in Malaysia - I mean, can I claim it here in case anything happen to it? Sure thing they have different ID, for example : UL30VT-C730WHP ( Malaysia) UL30VT-A1 (North America). Though, ASUS did mentioned that their notebook have 2 year GLOBAL warranty, so yeah, just need confirmation before i fly the lil guy halfway across the world.

asus warranty is global warranty.. means u can claim your warranty in malaysia..

as long as there's a service center, u can claim the warranty...

why does my U80V when play movie and play games most of the time is not smooth and tends to lag a bit? is it related to the graphic driver? My ATI 4570 driver version is 8.650.0.0. Or how to tune the graphic card so that it can play movie and games smooth without lagging? Thnx

What movie player you use? Try use Media Player Classic - HomeCinema...
As for games, well, you might need to tone down the settings...

I am using QVOD player for most of the movies. The game that lags when i play is Fifa 2010. I use the default setting.

Try update the driver? Latest now is mobility 10.4, can download directly from amd, no need to mod.
