Just received an email from AV123 that they don't ship to Malaysia anymore as currently they are in talk with some local distributor. Didn't ask any further question as I had my eyes set on different type of speaker solution. Will post further after I confirm my purchase.

guys there r two speakers always mentioned in other forums... both are known as bang for buck affordable speakers.. although only Dana looks more affordable in RM
1) Dana 630 (USD4XX) 2) Selah SSR (diy) (USD7xx) i dont know whether they r really that good but since many have talked abt ID speakers here so i just post the two here This post has been edited by mys_terious: Jul 5 2009, 04:33 PM |

But, i went perfect hifi and alvin from perfecthifi also told me dyns are really power hungry. He told me, you need to spend 2x the amount u spend for ur speaker on amps. o.O i just lucky peaseant. This post has been edited by dlyz: Jul 8 2009, 12:58 PM |

There is thread on this SVS loudspeakers in avsforum. A forummer did post that MTS-01 is good and that it matches the Dynaudio but at much lower price. Post #437
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread....=865504&page=15 So good? I will find out soon This post has been edited by htkaki: Sep 7 2009, 11:46 PM |

So far you're only bringing in SVS subs right? No speakers?

Post #437 Be very careful about one person's review...often very bias. The reason I buy the SVS sub is because almost all the people who bought it say great things about SVS sub. That is not the case for SVS speakers.http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread....=865504&page=15 So good? I will find out soon |

Maybe I didn't make myself clear. I have personally auditioned the MTS-01 in S'pore but the venue didn't allow it to perform excellently. It sounds bright too. So, about the one person's view, yes it may be biased.
However, the MTS-01 systems garnered quite good review from Sound and Vision and being awarded 'Certified & Recommended'. I have the mag too. So, kind of itching to listen to its audio quality in a room. http://www.svsound.com/reviews/2008-10_Sound_and_Vision.pdf Having said that, the system needs a beefy power amp to really get it working handsomely just like mpyw's Axiom. On that note, I am tempted to get the Emotiva XPA-5 to do the job as my new 4310 is just puny |

So, about the one person's view, yes it may be biased. That is true. The MTS-O1 is rated 4 ohm so is kind of power hungry. Might want to audition the MBS-01 as i prefer bookshelf to tower since i am using a sub. Shopping for speakers is harder then woofer as there are more speaker choices and also speakers tend to have very different sound signature which appeal to different people. However, the MTS-01 systems garnered quite good review from Sound and Vision and being awarded 'Certified & Recommended'. QUOTE(megatron007 @ Jul 1 2009, 07:12 PM) excite is not tat hard to drive actually.... go n listen n compare .. dun just like keep on copy n paste info and blow blow water better still let dynaudio blow u away ![]() Had a chance to listen to the Dynaudio Excite X32 yesterday. Wanted to hear what was all the fuss about Dynaudio. CMY said Excite series was suitable for HT use since not as difficult to drive as other models. Still it is a 4 ohm speaker with 87 dB efficiency - so not really easy to drive. It was paired with a Naim amp (CMY said rated at 60W). Anyway, the sound was very dynamic, good separation, bass was punchy and it was detailed. However, on some tracks it sounded a tad bit bright (which was surprising considering they are soft dome tweeters). Quoted 9.9k for it. This post has been edited by jchong: Sep 11 2009, 10:02 AM |
