bro, tgok link mcm mati tp xpe la, nk tny jgk. tire farrelli ni ada waranti ke? sy bru pkai 2 bln, dh rosak (bengkak).....

Link is ok. Thanks

Bro lewatmalam,

I just bough 135LC and I plan to change my stock tyre (vee rubber) and interested to try Farrelli instead of Dunlop due to good feedback from my friends and forums. my question is:

1. do you have any dealer around Shah Alam. Of couse the one who sell it cheap.

2. what are the good size for a good handling of my 135LC. (stock tyre 70/90/17-front and 80/90/17) please advice.

3. is there any imitate Farrelli in the market. worry to be coned by motor shop. if yes, how to know the original one?

Please advise and thanks. biggrin.gif

Are you referring to tires for all motorcycles or small bikes?

What's the recommended tyre pressure for Farrelli?
I used 32 F/R, and it was too hard on the front. Reduced it to 30 now.

I came across 2 bike shops that gave customers negative reviews of Farrelli:
1. Tire wall is hard, suitable for heavy load. If use on front tire, will bounce quite a lot, need to reduce pressure.
2. For the same reason, inner wall of tire sometimes got crack, not reliable. I'm not sure how true this is, but we'll see/hear from the rest here.

30 PSI is the recommended from our engineers at our factory. Definitely our tire wall is hard, that is part of the technology that enables the tire to be truly "Pancit Boleh Jalan". Inner wall will not crack unless tire is already been used up to around 30% thread left in which the tire is actually deemed not safe to be use on the road anymore or the tire life expectancy is over or under inflation of the tires. I can't comment on the bike shops that told you these comments but i can assure you that my comments are true from the factory.

Thanks. Just informing you on what I hear on the streets. I'm good with the tires so far.
I used to like the feeling of over-inflating my tires to 32psi, but I guess this won't work with these. For me, 29-30 works best on the front. I'll be installing the tires onto a new set of rims soon, so I'll be sure to check the inner wall and report back. biggrin.gif

What's the tire gauge reading to tell if it's 30% tread left, in mm? I have an ARISTO gauge that looks like this:
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Added on December 2, 2010, 11:58 pmOh, btw, is there a way to test the tyres and compare against the ones on the market? Example, rate from 1 to 10, the traction in dry, wet, reliability, and comfort. And perhaps, to ask for more, is to compare against other brands in the market.

All sirim approved tires will have TWI on the tire. 5mm is the depth of the approved thread depth hence each mm is 20%. 30% will be 1.5mm. Your Aristo gauge works fine. Can't help you on comparing tires in the market as it will bear down to personal preference and ridicule. A full proof way is to get LGM (Lembaga Getah Malaysia) to do a test and report in which will cost a lot of money. Farrelli tires are all tested by LGM as we need the report to get Sirim approval.

Bro audecosta, sorry for late reply. That condition of your tire is what we call blister. Please pm me which shop you purchased these tires and which tokei told u its tiruan. Pls also gv me your phone number. I shall get someone to check the tires for you and if its indeed our manufacturing fault, we will definately change the tires for you.

Just for information purposes, blister can happen 2 ways. One is the the particular tire wasn't cured properly hence after inflation and usage of tires (normally less than a week or the first 10% of threadware), it will result in blister. Although this happens but its very very nominal. Two is that the tire was over inflated. (Motorcycle tires should be only inflated to 30-32psi) This causes irregularity in the tire structure hence causing the tire to blister. Many other factors like weak absorbers also contribute to this problem.

I personally advice all tires to be inflated to the proper psi as its very important. Many motorcycle shops out there do not use tire pressure gauges. They just use their hands to so called picit picit. Do notice if the tire was a car tire, the shop will use a tire pressure gauge to check the pressure to ensure this problem doesn't happen.
