Final Destination (the first one, 2000)

This is a very good example of how HD can be a negative to an actor.

Devon Sawa has very BAD skin and it shows (I think he also has cold sore!!) It was so bad after the the first act, they started to use filter on him, just to make his skin look smoother, it only made him look waxy.

Thank god this movie's got Ali Larter!!

The most original Final Destination

Other then Devon Sawa's bad skin, he actually delivered a solid performance.

Interesting how Seann William Scott is bigger then he is??!

Will also take this opportunity to point out that 1 year before he was in The Final Destination, he was in another horror/comedy movie called idle Hands which was release in an inopportune time (after the Columbine incident) and it tank in the box office. I kinda like it, also it has Jessica Alba in it. And I can never get a copy if it on DVD.

Back to Final Destination, what is interesting about this movie is it is basically a "snuff" movie, and people get high on seeing other people bites it in creative situations.

Sound on this BD is good (Dolby TrueHD). When things go boom, they go BOOM.

The novelty of this movie does diminish everytime you view it, and have several sequels doesn't help.

Nevertheless, it is a good horror movie

Yup I have. It's actually not so bad, haha the ending was the best though.. =X But I thought after he got the tali pocong and he can see ghosts, remind me so much of The Eye. Oh that reminds me I have yet to see The Eye (US version) that I downloaded.



I LOL'd at Devon Sawa's bad skin part. He used to be so damn cute and hot, I was a huge fan of him when I was a kid.

Final Destination is awesome. I love the first one.. but the 2nd and 3rd is kinda repetitive for me, same concept and everything except for death.. just the death is different. I have yet to see The Final Destination (4).

Anyone seen "The Real Pocong"?
Indonesian movie but lead actor is Ashraf Sinclair (Malaysian actor) pretending to be Indonesian. I've only seen the beginning.

Idle Hands sucked, kinda. Except for how ridiculously hot Jessica Alba is and how hilarious Seth Green is.

I actually think the first if the worst of the first three FD movies (havent seen the recent one). Takes itself too seriously, not enough people dying, not enough creative deaths. And lets face it, the latter two are the only things the FD series is about.

Guess we really hv the total opposite taste then... To me, the first one is the best, the other 3 sequels are just so-so lo... nothing special anymore

None of them are anything special, but #2 is the most satisfying of the three. I mean, dying because you stepped on the stale spaghetti you just chucked outside the window = win.

ok the intro was the family move to a new house, in the middle of jungle i think(the heck, this family insane or what). and theres a neighbor nearby.. and guess what the moment u see this neighbor u are DEFINITELY know this is the ghost.

Anyone here watched paranormal activities??? actually not as scary as they claimed, it was rated the scariest movie of all time lol! concept is something similar like [rec] and blair witch but concentrate on what happened when the main actress sleeps at night. It's interesting, some good surprising moment but that is all i guess...

Anyone seen SUMPAH INI POCONG? Omg this film is JOKE! Haha. I just watched this yesterday.

It's more like scary movie, with pocong. It's so ridiculously stupid, it's hilarious. I've seen other Indon horror movie before that tries to be a parody like Scary Movie but it was too stupid but this one is actually hilarious. Haha. The pocong can fall in love with other pocong, get revenge for the family they were first terrorizing, get an army of pocong (there's even FAT pocong hahahaha omg too funny) and then have a family with a baby pocong! Haha. Seriously, I mean, the effect is not bad, there are some hilarious scene, some stupid, and lots and lots of hot, sexy scene (there's even a shower scene with Julia Perez half naked). So it's a mix of scary, comedy and sexy.

I usually won't end up liking an Indonesian horror movie, but this one is good enough to be on my recommended list lol

Talking about Final Destination....TV2 is showing an indon movie 'Menatang Maut (MIracle)' tonight that copies Final Destination

Just watched The Hills Run Red (thought it has sth to do with The Hills Have Eyes, but it doesn't), a story about a film student who wants to track down a legendary film, "The Hills Run Red", which was lost and is rumored to be the most violent horror film ever...
It's quite nice actually... Love the opening of the movie... For horror movie fans, you should give it a try...

Pandorum (2009)

Well, what can I say about this movie indeed! (Yeah, yeah, never stopped me b4 )

It is a Dark, Isolated, Lonely, Claustrophobic, Vicious, Tensed, Thrilling, Horrific, Suspenseful movie.

It is nice to see Dennis Quaid in a movie, longer then 5 minutes (e.g. G.I. Joe).

For some odd reason, when I'm watching the movie, I keep thinking that Ben Foster role (Bower) would be better played by Cam Gigandet (Gallo) and vice versa!! (Must be how Ben Foster played The Stranger in 30 Days of Night)

The "baddies" are scary (they eat their dead, though by the end...)

I'll shut up and not spoil it for those of you who have not watched it.

I rate this 8/10.

Susuk Pocong



Watched this yesterday when I was bored. It was so-so. Not really about the pocong, it's more about the girl who wants to get back her husband's love interest by wearing susuk pocong, which actually is just susuk emas. Then there's other girl's obsession the husband too. So it's much more drama on that rather than about the pocong. Quite boring. Starting was quite good, but then got bleh. Obvious After Effect on the pocong face, which i really hate.

Trick 'r Treat (2008)

What a surprising and fantastic find (thank u forumers who had recommended it)!

There are several somewhat interlinking stories all occurring on on Halloween's night

Each with it own uniqueness!

I love the little pumpkinhead (who is both cute and disturbing)

I know there are some forumer who had not watched it yet.

I STRONG recommend this, 8.5 out of 10!
