icon_question.gif I always have been having straight hair bra strap length. As i am quite chubby, i have a rather meaty face. I am tempted to perm my hair to try to change my flat hair look. But i got a collegue who work in saloon before says that i will look fatter if i perm my hair sweat.gif . May i ask what different between japanese perm and also digital perm?

Anyone know where at KL center area that is cheap for perming with good results? cry.gif kinda poor recently budget around max rm200 only.... icon_question.gif

i went for a hair cut just last month asking the professional hairstylist what he can do cause i am bored with my hair style but he says he cant do anything cause my hair is layer so he ended up just trim my lock and cut back the shape!!

I am bored and tired with my hair ... cry.gif

mostly of u want to cover your chubby face then it's better to do straightening but not the so so straight type coz it looks fake..do those normal natural straightening..can cover your chubby side ways...so will look more thin the face..

dont perm it really will makes u looks more fat coz perm its curled ma, curled ady can cover your side ways chin to hide your chubby...

digital perm is those tiny tiny curls..not nice der...japanese perm shud be big curls..nicer (correct me if i'm wrong, thx) thumbup.gif

i got two friends which chubby and face are big, they look nicer with perm hair because it will make them look nicer. With a flatten hair, make them look chubby. For digital perm, you need to find a person who REALLY know how to perm and layer yr hair. Else it will be like Lion. I have tried to perm in KL and i don really like it even though the hair dresser know how to cut but tooo bad.. not everyone can perm that nice..

I have ever permed many times in SG, the hairdresser is the best mei. She will change your look totally after perming and layering...

in my personal opinion...
sometimes perming your hair will make you look more cute and your face will appear smaller... cool2.gif

i suggest you cut a bang and take a bit of hair each side near your ears for straight....
just for smaller face imagination.... brows.gif
then do japanese perm form middle part till end.....
make sure your hair lengh is more than bra strap lengh with v layers...
coz it will became shorter after you perm...

hope it helps...

Hi Crys_Crys,

It's all about if u can trust the stylist. I also have chubby face. The stylist framed my face with straight hair at the front side of my face,
then mix big & small curls for the entire head (to create volumes and makes it more interesting).

I had it permed by this stylist twice, with NO regrets! Till now, those are my best style ever! Even when I see my previous photos I will admire my then hair style. It balanced out my chubby face. I attracted many positive comments and now my friends said I don't look so good with straight hair anymore!

Reason I didn't perm now is due to budget constraints (coz need regular treatments), and due to some hair cut disaster in Thailand my hair became too short and was layered too thin. Totally not suitable for perm.

BTW, last time I permed it cost RM150, with treatment rclxms.gif

To add on, thinner or fatter...that depends on the stylist. If he/she is no good, sure become fatter, whatever style you take.

Whether to perm it straight or perm it curly, remember to perm the next time only after 1 year. I always perm hair after 1 year, but i still facing the huge hair loss problem...sigh...

* based on my opinion, Perm hair doesnt require much skills instead depend on the type of chemical and product they appl on your hair. NO Matter what price you pay also the perming results would be the same- Curly hair. First time after perming, it's be SO curly and you think you look ugly~ but after some time the curlness will turn wavy n u'll Look awesome in it !!
My advise is to Perm down part of the hair after the ears and bigger curls instead of small curls. You will have to buy mousse( Dont use GEL!) after perming hair n apply it every time after shower. If not the hair will look very messy.
