Earlier on, someone said his/her Platinum credit card only has RM20,000 of credit line. If my memory serves me correctly, i think it's Preferred Platinum VISA/Mastercard from UOB Bank.
*
UOB Platinum start at RM15k only.

All CIMB card have paypass, you can use at KFC restaurant.
One more thing is not many cashier don't know how to use the tap reader, if fail to read your card, then they directly swap your card from the terminal which mean you have to sign tongue.gif
According to one former member say, it is not tap reader or the cc problem, the cashier don't know how to operate the tap reader blush.gif
*
That is exactly true. I experience it twice. blink.gif

@Gen-X,
When U want to take a loan from the bank they'll tell you you're over-exposed.  I believe that's gonna happen to me too! My CC CL combined can probably buy a terrace house !

Welcome to the Club and good to know its not such a lonely world out there  tongue.gif

* to everyone out there, its not really a good thing to have high high CLs unless you absolutely need it, otherwise later want to buy house. car etc will have trouble getting financing cheers.gif
*
I have 6 cards & my total CL can buy half of terrace house. Luckily, when I apply for home loan early his year, it went through smoothly. I'm also quite worry at that time for not getting approval. It turn out that all 3 application from different banks were approved.

Actually I did ask the banks about this matter, HSBC & CIMB told me that not to worry as long as I have no outstanding balance or paid in full every months. But Maybank told me that there was a few cases where they rejected the application due to too many CC.

So I guess it really depend on individual banks policy.

@tinkerbel

Forgot to tell I still have to serve my car loan. So I guess you do not need to worry too much but remember when applying for home loan, try to get from more than 1 bank.

I think tgeoklin meant:
take your total gross annual income (x), then divide it by 3 (x/3)
take your total CL from all cc (y), not just the outstanding only (O/S?)

if x/3<y*0.1, then you are overexposed
*
If this is the case, mine still much below of overexposed level. It only count CC CL? How about other loan?

@GHz,
Need to take into account ALL loans lah

Anyhow, using the above calculation, my X = 2Y ! meaning my

x/3 < Y*0.1

Damn.. I'm super duper exposed !
*
Outstanding amount only or total amount of loan?

OK, I recalculate mine,

before home loan

my x:y ratio is 6:5 hmmm still OK

after home loan become 12:17. over exposed already.

so it may be difficult to apply for another loan or CC right?

edit : just remember that, 2 months after my home loan is approved, I apply for scb justone card. The application was approved & they granted high CL to me. Now I wonder that even I am over exposed, still scb can approve my card application with such a high CL.

First off, if the loan just approved before full drawdown will not be captured in CRIS yet. Secondly, if with the same bank that provides your CC then easier as then its somewhat secured. Further, the formula scale per your exposure and what's yr defination of high CL is quite subjective as well, right?  tongue.gif
*
Ohhh I see. btw my home loan is with cimb & new cc with scb

What I mean high CL is the new CC has 50% higher then my previously highest CL. smile.gif

Well, put it this way, if say existing card is RM1K CL, even with a 100% increase, its insignificant, thus as your exposure level increases then the restrictions starts setting in  biggrin.gif
*
you're right but my existing card CL is 20 times higher than that.

Don't take it critically as its not meant to say your CL is low etc. But just for information sharing, in the banking circle, there are 3 Tiers just only for Plat cards in general ie. Tier 3 are those sub RM100K CL, Tier 2 at RM100 to RM200K CL and Tier 1 which is from RM200K to RM300K max. So in the scheme of things that are, you can be considered in the lowest risks category, which means a higher/flexible exposure range  tongue.gif

Do also keep in mind that different banks have different appetite for risks, so while it may be a no go at one bank, does not mean that another will also be the same. Banks like CIMB are amongst the more adventurous while PBB is considered very conservative.

Thanks for the information

What is your score?

mine is 0.12 only. shocking.gif too much exposure now

if I cancel all my CC, it only raise to 0.16 shocking.gif this is just from my house & car loan

Maybe I try to apply for another CC to see what going to happen.

hi, i'm new here. can i know which bank provided the highest cash rebate % on petrol? i'm actually looking forward for applying a cc where most of the time i will be spending on petrol. DA?
*
JustOne card will give you 5% rebate on Friday & 2% rebate on any day on any transaction including petrol. DA mastercard or CIMB petronas give 5% on first day of the month & 2% on any other day. I think the 5% is not permanent but the 2% yes.

During the launching time in May'09, they always advertised that 1st 1000 approved cards will be given a free RM50 rebate. I presume they have hit the target last month. And now, I notice that SCB has even removed Just1 cc from their website.
*
The page is still at their website but they remove the top main link to this card
