how bout the maybank petronas VISA, 5x Treatpoints. It is equivalent to how many % rebate? Thanks.
Around 2.25% - 2.75%. But bear in mind that you will only get 5x TP when you pump at Petronas station and shop at Mesra shops. All other purchases will earn you only 1x TP = RM1.

If you pump at Shell, i'd suggest you to get AMEX Gold credit card instead. It gives you 5x Membership Rewards (MR) points for every Ringgit. You'll also get 5x MR points when you shop at most major supermarkets (Carrefour, Tesco, Giant etc.) and bookstores (Kinokuniya, MPH, Times, Borders). As for all other purchases you will get 2x MR for every RM1. It is by far the best credit card from Maybank smile.gif

oh thanks for ur suggestion, btw how bout if i pump petronas or mobile petrol? any nice card to intro? even a all 'rounder'?

Both of these two stations also accept AMEX. Just that you need to swipe your AMEX at the cashier counter at all Petronas station. As for Shell, you can swipe your card directly at the petrol kiosk.

I see tat some card use to collect point, some card giving cash rebate. Personally I would prefer cash rebate, how bout u guys?

I prefer cash rebate too ! Cash rebate credit card is the most popular card in USA.

now i apply the amex gold cc using my hsbc premier cc ... i stil wonder y they take so long to response???? even wan reject oso shud gif a notice ma ... if they r checking records ... as a hsbc premier account holder , how bad would his credit be???
Certain Premier account holders do have huge risky debts laugh.gif And not to mention that certain people already convert their account to Premier/Citigold/Priority Banking when they only meet the minimum requirement with not much cash to spare. They join it because they want to be in the affluent crowd doh.gif

I was also told that not all HSBC Premier customers have good credit score. Certain HSBC Premier customers only pay the minimum of their credit card bill most of the time, just like the majority of the mass banking crowds. And these are the people that you'd expect to settle their credit card bills in full every month. Surprise surprise laugh.gif

I guess the applications for the Gold AMEX CC must be good as the processing seems to be slow. When I applied during the lauch, it took less than 10 days for my application to be approved. Those who say AMEX is not accepted by most merchants are losing out by not getting the AMEX Gold CC because when one does the calculation for 5X rewards, it is equivalent to minimum 2.5% cash back.

Couldn't agree more !!!! laugh.gif

Just made my first payment for my AMEX Gold CC at MBB cheque deposit machine.
Do you know if my current account is held in HSBC Kota Kinabalu, can i just drop off the cheque for AMEX in any one of the Maybank branch here in Kota Kinabalu without my cheque being treated as outstation cheque so i do not have to foot the extra charges ? I assume if they clear the cheque in Maybank Kota Kinabalu my HSBC Kota Kinabalu issued cheque is considered as local cheque ?

I've got rebates at ISETAN, Guardian, KFC using my CIMB Mastercard. I've got bonus points too. Maybe it's different for Direct Access only ? If so better just use CIMB Mastercard.

For Direct Access range of credit cards only, i supposed ?

CIMB Bank has year-round promotion only for their Mastercard. The promotion said has been ongoing since last year. For example :
- MPH Bookstores > 10% rebate on every 1st Sunday
- Guardian > 5% rebate on every 2nd Sunday
- ISETAN > 10% rebate on every 4th Sunday
- Cold Storage > 5% rebate on every 4th Sunday
- KFC > 10% rebate on the 1st day of the month
and many more !

**subject to a maximum rebate of RM50 per day per card per outlet with CIMB Mastercard only.

By the way, is CIMB Bank no longer accept new application for VISA (except VISA Infinite) and JCB ? Currently only Mastercard and VISA Infinite are listed in their revamped website.

Any feedback regarding the accuracy of the credit card list?
HSBC Premier Mastercard issued in Malaysia is actually NOT a World Mastercard, despite World Mastercard is embossed on it. Only Premier Mastercard issued from the following countries are true HSBC Premier World Mastercard :
- HSBC USA
- HSBC Australia
- HSBC New Zealand
- HSBC Japan

QUOTE
Yup. Should be included, as long as they belongs to Visa or MasterCard.

For my survey, co-brand card normally is classic or gold card only. Don't see any platinum co-brand card yet. Correct me if I am wrong.

And by the way, there are indeed co-branded Platinum credit cards in Malaysia. For example :
- EON Bank Pavillion Mastercard
- EON Bank GSC VISA
- EON Bank The Store Mastercard
- EON Bank Pacific Mastercard
- EON Bank Ming Heng Mastercard
- EON Bank Audi Circle Mastercard
- CIMB Bank Enrich Mastercard
- CIMB Bank TnG Mastercard
- CIMB Bank Petronas Mastercard
- Maybank Petronas VISA
and many more !

You can either call Mastercard regional office directly (as Hye suggests) or google it. You will find that that HSBC Premier World Mastercard is only issued in :
- HSBC USA
- HSBC Australia
- HSBC New Zealand
- HSBC Japan
as previously mentioned. Nobody knows what category HSBC Premier Mastercard issued in all other countries belong to but since its perks offered is exactly the same as HSBC Platinum VISA, one can assume that it is a Platinum credit card.

Don't want to have 2 CC. hmm.gif
You should give CIMB Bank a serious consideration. I also believe CIMB Bank credit card balance transfer is one of the most best in town. It also has many promotion year-round. I'm not exactly a fan of CIMB Bank as i find their customer service sucks (tellers are fine but those customer service staff suck BIG TIME). However, they do have one hell of a credit card thumbup.gif

CIMB Bank is everywhere in Malaysia, easier for you to make credit card payment smile.gif

The price of RON92 petrol is currently RM1.70 and will be replaced by RON95 petrol priced at RM1.75 on 1 September. I've noticed that practically no stations which used to sell both RON92 and RON97 has stopped selling RON92 since mid-August while only a very small number of stations are selling RON95.
Not that i know what is RON92 or RON95 but certain SHELL stations i frequent have 2 choices of unleaded petrols now. One with the green handle and another one with yellow handle. The red one's gone.

btw, im just notice, just now login to Maybank2u and pay my bills, i notice M2U now can use credit card to pay bills instead of from saving account.

Too bad, only for credit card Visa ( i dun have MBB Master card - so cant tell) can choice from.

now, got more reason to use M2U and credit card to pay bill online... more points!!!
It's been a while since M2U accept bill payment using either Maybank credit card or credit card(s) issued by other local banks (foreign banks such as SCB, Citi, HSBC, UOB & OCBC all included). I've been helping my mom to pay Jabatan Air Sabah bill since June 2008 and Sabah Electricity (SESB) bill since March this year.

By the way, you can only add up to 4 different credit cards into your M2U account. It will need to be verified by Maybank first before you can start using it to pay for bills that do accept credit card via M2U.

Yes. Exactly what i meant earlier. Just that in Sabah, TNB is known as SESB (Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd) while Indah Water is known as Jabatan Air Sabah. Both accept credit card payment over M2U. I've been using my mom's CIMB Bank Mastercard to pay for those bills via her M2U account since last year.

last time, M2U did not offer pay bills using credit card. now they have this features.

u can opt to pay bills via ur saving account or credit card (MBB's CC)
Sabah Electricity only started to accept credit card payment over M2U since February or March this year. As for Jabatan Air Sabah and Telekom Malaysia Berhad, they have started accepting credit card (as well as other banks' credit card) since last year.

However, Telekom Malaysia Berhad accepts only VISA over M2U sad.gif Luckilly there is still TM ONLINE tongue.gif

By the way, for our TM bill, we should choose Telekom Malaysia Berhad instead of TM Net Berhad on M2U or any other banks' online banking portal.
