Hi all.
Anybody doing their Master at UM currently? Coz rite now i'm kinda interested to pursue my study on postgrad at Master level, and UM is my top priority of choice! I've looked at the UM's postgrad site, specifically on the Engineering course, but I couldn't find the COURSE STRUCTURE. Any UM-ian care to enlighten me where can I look for it? Coz the course structure is really important, simply to know what kind of subject i'll be taken when I enroll into the course. Thanks ya. |

Been getting the jitters recently. I'm a Uitm Diploma student and I am keen of reading Economics at UM next year. My final semester ends in May next year and I intend to take my MUET in March.
I noticed that on the UM website, applicants with Diplomas are required to apply for the 1st phase of intake between the 10 January 2011 - 4 April 2011. Is it possible for me to put in an application without my final Diploma and MUET results? (I have a 3.8 cgpa, Diploma in accountancy, don't know if that helps) |

Nope... called them and asked why my application was rejected. the reason is because they give priority to students from ipta, i graduated from an ipts, so no go for me. what kind of stupid rule is this? next thing we know, only students from a certain race is allowed to join a university... oh wait.
the reason i joined ipts in the first place, was because i wasnt offered the course that i wanted in ipta. and now because they couldnt offer me a place for my bachelor degree, they are punishing me for doing my degree, which is approved by lan by the way, in an ipts. way to go. |

QUOTE(z21j @ Jul 29 2011, 09:35 PM) hi. U must be engineering student, if not from pusat kebudayaan. Allow me to correct you, 4th college does not provide 3 meals as well.rm10 include ur 3 meals. Only 9,10,11,12 residential college rm7 per day and exclude meals. With the current budget deficit( Heard it from the top senior management level), more colleges will not providing 3 meals starting this coming new semester. This is what i heard. Regarding UM's residential colleges as the most expensive one, i have no idea. But the fees in UM for most hostel ranging from RM 800 ( Without meal) to RM 1200 ( With meal) per semester.. By the way, welcome to UM!~=) This post has been edited by OMG!: Jul 30 2011, 08:38 AM |

QUOTE(OMG! @ Jul 30 2011, 08:37 AM) Allow me to correct you, 4th college does not provide 3 meals as well. Ok. Thanks for updating. I guess 4th college no meal policy just implemented recent years? With the current budget deficit( Heard it from the top senior management level), more colleges will not providing 3 meals starting this coming new semester. This is what i heard. Regarding UM's residential colleges as the most expensive one, i have no idea. But the fees in UM for most hostel ranging from RM 800 ( Without meal) to RM 1200 ( With meal) per semester.. By the way, welcome to UM!~=) Consider to provide 3 means and charge the students RM3 per day is definitely a deficit and also wastage. Most students will skip for breakfast and lunch as there is very unlikely that they will return to hostel and have their meal there. I would still say RM7 is reasonable in PETALING JAYA/KUALA LUMPUR/BANGSAR area. U cant compare it with others uni that located outside the "busy" city.
